I saw this come up on a different forum and figured it might be a useful thing for Retro Riders to know about. www.motorsportuk.org/movement-of-motorsport-vehicles-post-brexit/I think this only applies to trailering cars about - if you are driving it then that's fine (IANAL etc). Mods - if this is in the wrong place or not deemed relevant, please move/delete.

So if I want to trailer my car to Spa for a track day (for example) it is going to cost me £240 + VAT for the paper work and then fronting a deposit of £4k on a £10k car (or paying an insurance premium of £288?)? Well... that's the idea of trailering a car to Spa (or The Ring) out the window then. Guess it'll have to be driven. *edit* more discussion here : tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?s=8368e69118acf0647a211a313fb70855&t=155870

The real question should be why are you not driving it to Spa etc now that speeding offences etc 'over there' are no longer recognised in the UK.... Best part of the trip to the Ring and Spa was the thrash there and back.... *note - all above to be taken with tongue firmly stuffed in cheek.... P.

The Devil's in the detail with this sort of thing. How does the regulation define a motorsport vehicle?

pinderwagen will have a good idea of this, as it's something he does quite often. IIRC, if you are a personal trackdayer, it doesn't apply. However, explaining that to a foreign officer may be tricky. This is just one thing that will be iffy. I did start buying quite a few parts from European folks on my M3, as the costs made more sense (Parts in Motion for those wondering).
