So I've just bought a vehicle I've been after for some time (Hiace build thread here, if you're interested) and the diddly little keys come on a bare ring with no fob - I did something I've surprisingly NEVER done before and bought a keyring! Had to be something suitable for the period - I also made a piston keyring for my Chevette keys a while ago after seeing someone on here do one - possibly grizz ? So, what keyring do you have keeping your retro's keys company?

Big and relatively chunky for a pocket. But perfect for less often used keys.

I was just thinking the other day I need a keyring for my E46 key. I was considering a main dealer leather one but the dealer doesn't seem to exist anymore, so it'd just have to be a blank one like I had for my old E36.
I saw an 'E46' keyring that was quite nice. Not too big heavy either, so ideal for daily keys.

This is my favourite one, has to be at least 25 years old. My dad gave it to me when I was a kid, it’s a little Monroe damper, which even compresses and springs back out again.

Funnily enough I've just taken a picture of mine! In the middle we've got the old Bertone fob that came with my first X/9 that got hit by a tree. To the left of that is the new fob I got for my current X1/9. Bottom left is the Triumph fob I've repainted (not well enough, but I plan to redo it) in Group 44 colours. Bottom middle is the natty 60s Triumph fob I initially bought for the Spitfire, but decided it should go on a 60s car not a 70s one*. Bottom right is the 90s Alfa one I got for the 75. Top right is the one that came iwth the XJ40. Lastly the one up top is a safety tag my aircraft engineer mate brought me from his work that goes on the Citroen BX, which I find hilarious given that it's both the slowest car I own and also rises up on its suspension before driving off *Funny story with the 60s Triumph one. It's part of the reason I bought the new Triumph 2000, which my GF found hilarious (buying a car because I already have a fob for it). Turns out the 2000 came with a genuine Aston Martin DB6 key fob! Think I might need to start saving to get one of those

I used this one for the Firenza until recently, but the leather that holds the metal loop in place was starting to wear out. I had a lucky spot at a car boot sale, leather key fobs with different coloured leather. I was able to get a grey one for the Firenza (closest I could get to silver), dark red for the Sportshatch, and white for my Audi project.

Some of mine... I think the most expensive one there is the purple crocodile one on my Nissan Navara key. I won it on one of those 2p coin pusher machines at the fair, only cost me about £7 in 2ps to get it, and the flippin thing was balanced on the edge when I started to play. I thought to myself, I'll soon have that. Seven quid and half an hour later it was mine!

I've still got this one, which came free with the magazine, many years ago. That's been on my house keyring for almost 30 years now. Came with the May 1991 issue of Street Machine. To this day it's the most useful free gift I have ever had with a magazine.

Mine now lives on my garage keys,as that's where my beer is stashed!

Cant find the one I wanted to show, it's from my crazy moped days, the leather bits gone but it's a nice logo of Garelli, I'm sure there should be a few Yamaha ones floating about, here's what's laying around. If anyones got a nice Camaro or Mustang keyring going, please let me know. **Found it**

Not difficult of course as a wine gum usually lasted longer 😉😀
