Good morning all,
So, we collected the Stag ive been working on from the paint shop yesterday (a little delayed, but hey), looking shiny and like a new penny so now the (nervous - whose gonna scratch it first!?!?) reassembly starts....
Whilst its been away, my old man has been going through all of the bits that came off during the paint prep, and cleaning and checking them all out, so we're hoping that ressambly should be fairly straightforward. But, what should be be sealing trims (the marker lights etc) on with? I know they have a rubber gasket that goes behind them, but its 50 years old, and not in the best of health, so we're thinking of something to give it a little help, especially on the rear ones, where they drain into the boot when they leak (and they do leak!!)
Obviously I'm keen to avoid bathroom silicone and curse word like that, I'm not a *complete* animal, but a little smear of *something* would be a good idea. Best options ive come up with is either a little smear of rtv, or a little bead of windscreen sealant (arbomast is the stuff ive got in stock) Anyone got any good suggestions?
Cheers,
Pete
