Last night I sat down and tried to repeatedly overheat my Dremel. Polished up the driver's side headlight bezel. It's anodized aluminum and really difficult to get a decent shine, partly because of the coating, partly because it's on the front of the car and had been peppered with stones and stuff over the years. You can see how much more dull the center bars are. They're going to be great fun to restore. Phil

Had a dodge charger 383 on the rolling road once , i was very surprised at pk power rpm was 6300 ! Yup, the 383 being the short stroke big block, it'll rev quite high. They're perky motors. People still prefer the 360 because it has better economy for similar power and torque figures, plus it is significantly lighter than the 383 for better handling. That's why we have it!... Oh wait!

Didn't you say this wasn't anodised aluminium when I mentioned it before? I was wrong.

my local shop stripped off my anodising for me then anodised my bits again after i polished them. It was very cheap.

my local shop stripped off my anodising for me then anodised my bits again after i polished them. It was very cheap. I'm spraying the car with aerosol cans. A bit of buff-n-polish is good enough. Plus, the kids will be driving it. If they land it into something solid it'll be less to have to polish again...

Hard to see because of the steering column but I had a bit of fab time this afternoon. Made the L shaped bracket that holds the transmission end of the gearshift linkage up. It's supposed to have a nylon bush but it's just a hole in the metal for now. But, most importantly shifting the lever in the cabin moves the selector arm on the transmission.

The uj I ordered last week arrived in. It's the wrong part so I'm going to try source the correct one. Hammered the old one out in prep.

Radiator in. It's for the earlier poly engine so the bottom hose is on the wrong side. But, the oil cooler seems to be good along with the radiator not having any major leaks that I can see right now. I'll spatchcock together a lower hose for it, which will work fine.

Got the brass unions undone from the remains of the old steel pipes. That was a fight. Installed the transmission cooler lines (bit of a fight also) and made something resembling a battery tray.

phil if the engine wiggle woggles around , like they do , wont the hard lines fracture in time ? The pipes go all the way to the back of the transmission. Across that length, the slight twist is easily absorbed within the elastic limit of the steel. That's actually a proper Chrysler part.

As Robert has said, I would still be concerned about possible fracture at the radiator end, depends where and how the pipes are clipped as well I think.

Cleaned up the outside of the slip yoke. I need to get a long straight handled wire brush to clean up inside, looks like it's been sat full of rain at some point.
