Does it leak?  Yes. But, not from the new seals I put in.  Mostly seems to be coming from the dipstick tube. If i recall, that's just a simple O-ring so that's an easy fix. I think I need a new pan seal too, it's weeping at the back. Onward and upward. Phil |

More important, does it do burnouts  Right now, no. The carb on it is wrong (it's the spare from the Pontiac) and I have no brakes. It engages drive with a nice positive feel now, and I was able to slow the car by putting it in reverse and gently coming to a halt. I'll be sure to try once it's on the road. Phil |

Got a dipstick for the transmission. Generic thing for Chevrolet.  With assistance from another Fury owner, I got it calibrated.  That's good to keep the weather out of it. I have a pan seal and an O-ring for the base of the dipstick tube. That should dry it up. I also have the seal set for the speedometer drive, but the clamp is missing. Turns out it's the same as the distributor clamp... |

Constantly forward despite the occasional smack in the face.
Calibrating the dipstick is such a simple solution.

Made underneath the car look like a crime scene again, draining the transmission. The wind didn't help at all.  Pan gasket went on fine.  Dipstick tube, less so. I don't have any O-rings that size, so that's the next challenge, find one that fits. Then, I need to get the clamp for the speedometer drive plate, that's missing. After that it looks like I have an early radiator and a late water pump; the pipes exit on the wrong damn side. One step forward, three back today. |

Brand new O-ring.  The old one was rather crispy. This one does nicely and doesn't spin on the tube.  Tube fitted in place, sealing ring not all pinched out. Jacked the rear wheels up and tested to see if it goes into all three gears. Sure enough, it does. Phil |

Got quite badly sunburned yesterday. Today was indoor tasks.  Having looked on eBay at the cost of good hood ornaments for the car I decided to go rummage for the broken remains of mine and try make it viable to use. It needs a base, need to figure how I want to do that. Phil |

I moved the car to a clean spot of driveway and left it there for the afternoon.  Hopefully that'll be resolved by tightening the oil pan up just a bit. Definitely an improvement |

Battery. Not for this application but it works well enough and cost nothing (swap out on age from a UPS, 2018)  Also cobbled some hoses together.  Got the stupid question mark shape bypass hose on order. Need to work out how the heater hoses route, there's 4 spigots on the firewall... Phil |

Needed a bit of a morale boost after today, spent dicking about with carburetors.  That had the desired effect. |

Made up a fuel delivery line from the fuel pump to the carb. Need a longer length of rubber hose and it should run off a tank.  Phil |

The bypass hose arrived in.  Turned out to be wrong (correct shape, wrong diameter). Ended up buying a 90° and chopping it down. Engine leaks from every available location. Intake gasket leaks too so for sure needs replaced. Hose clamps and a carb rebuild kit will be up soon. Heater pipe is just hooped over for now. |
