I only have spark on one plug. Battery is taking a charge, I've been hammering it. Phil Inadequate ground to the distributor. Now have spark everywhere. Changed cables, now spins over relatively fast. Got attacked by bees when getting to go near the Renault to thieve the battery. That fell into "no" Battery back on charge. Might get fire later. Phil

I'll finish cleaning the carburetor up and Attempt Two can be had.
I may suspend it from the engine crane so I can fit the manifolds though...

Oh my. You want more, you say?
BRING THE THUNDER!
Cleaned up the carb and whacked it on top. That's not too bad. Second float stuck open, so that's on the to-do list for tomorrow.

Amazing! Your continuous chipping away at stuff in this thread and the Chieftain one make them two of my favourites to read. This and the fact that the cars are awesome Nice work on the startup, hope you didn't lose too much arm hair in that first attempt!

I feel as if I might have had a small part to play in this and it brings me deep joy. I hope you celebrated with a cold snack after the thunder was brought. Engine in and driving video by the end of the weekend then.... P.

Well, I had planned on doing the bodywork first but that all cost much more than this. Getting the engine running set me back $33 in a few bits, a can of carb cleaner etc.
Plus it's always fun to know if it runs.

Phil Not much point looking forward to doing the rest if you have to wait to see if the engine will run.
Well done Phil.

Headers. Blew the cobwebs out, literally.
Sounds good, that's equal length collectors into a 3" pipe on each side.

Yeah, well, it's good and all but... surely I can't be the only one that was hoping to see this running while dangling precariously from your engine crane.........
Great work mate, now stuff it in the beast and let's see some Mopar mischief.

I decided to exchange crane for wooden blocks. That and the bolts I was suspending it by I was using to hold the carburetor on. Can't have it all. It's not going back in the car yet. Phil

oh yes, certainly more entertaining than several acres of body work. Yes, but I do need to begin on the body soon. I've had my fun with the engine now. Phil
