W123 lowering question New to ownership on a 46k one family owned 200 and loving it. Would like to lower it a bit but read many threads about cutting springs, spring pads, etc Anyone been there , any advice appreciated.

Rent / borrow the proper Merc spring compressor. The springs on these are crazy, and trying to do it with regular spring compressors is 100% not a good idea. Other than that, take the springs out, cut some off, put them back in. All will be awesome

Thanks for the reply but didn’t really wanna butcher the springs as want to keep as the original option Thinking about some HR -50mm springs ?

Cut the springs, spend the spring money on better shocks.
90% of lowering springs ride worse than cut springs, especially merc ones. I have taken lowering springs out and replaced them with cut stockers in the past.

Also if cutting shocks, how much would you recommend to remove without compromise? 1-1.5”?
