If you've got an iPhone 12 Pro (newest and most expensive one) there's some pretty cool stuff people are doing using the Lidar enabled cameras on that.
My brother has one and I was mucking about with it. Pretty cool.
Aside from that there are a few apps you can get that will scan using your phone's camera. I've got one on IOS called 'Capture' which I've been using to get my head 3D scanned. It's not simple, but a head has got to be one of the more complex things to scan.
One issue with it is it puts out a point cloud, which then requires work to get into something usable with a 3D printer. I've been using MeshLab, which is an open source program, but isn't very user friendly to a noob like myself.
If anyone wants to have a muck about with 3D design, I can heartily recommend TinkerCAD. Powered by Autodesk, works in your browser and is totally free. I've been using it to try and make some bits, with middling success!

I've had a go at the 3d scanning phone apps myself, albeit a good while ago now with mixed results. Interesting to hear they've come along though! Will have a gander.
I've played with mesh mixer before to manipulate point clouds which from memory wasn't too difficult.
What printers are you guys running?

I don't have a printer myself, but I've got a friend with an Elegoo Saturn. It's a resin printer, and the results are phenomenal. I'm just about to order some flexible resin which will allow us to make more hardwearing parts, as the resin has a tendency to shatter.

Very cool, how big is your bed? 🤔 In any other topic this question would be considered inappropriate.😅

Those trumpets are a thing of beauty, wish I could get into this printing malarky but I think I'm about 10 years too late with ability and learning capacity!

Not had it printed yet, but after struggling to undo a couple of screws yesterday that were really hard to get to - and a very tight squeeze - I whipped this up. It turns a 13mm ratchet spanner into something that'll turn a screwdriver bit, but keeps it quite low profile. Not sure it'll be able to take much abuse, but it would certainly have helped me out yesterday! The yellow bit would sit in the spanner, the blue part would then be pushed on to the back to hold it in place, and you'd be able to get to all the B*STARD SCREWS!

Like that! If it doesn't take the abuse-sometimes it's surprising what the prints will take! Other times not so much.. I have one of these link and can recommend, I believe you can get the ratchet only for a tenner. Interested to hear how it goes though.

I've ordered some flexible resin for a product idea prototype, so once we're happy with the mixture I'll try and get one of the ratchet jobbies made up and have a play.
