Given how much VW campers go for in decent condition these things are food for thought. Same sort of shape but with 4WD and without the hidden rust

Same sort of shape but with 4WD and without the hidden rust i think there is a market for them definitely the belgium dealer adds a lot of ££££ on the price but has sorted all the registration issues if you have a contact abroad you can buy them much cheaper … once outside of russia the prices jump .. they seem to be for sale in poland, hungary, bulgaria,NL and chech replublic lots of info out there travelrealrussia.com/uaz_howtobuy

I'd love one, but at 22K Euro for a 5-seat Kombi it's a bit out of reach. That and my good lady's reaction was decidedly lukewarm. Normally her stock answer is "if you sell the lorry..." but this time it was "What, instead of the lorry and the Land-Rover?..." To be honest, to raise anywhere near the asking price from the Belgian dealer I'd have to sell all of my toys, and still likely have to borrow to top up.

My worst worry about dying is my wife selling my stuff for what I told her it cost...

I’ve not been able to find a Russian price for them, but I think it’s about half what the Belgian dealer is asking. There’d be UK excise duty and VaT to pay too, plus the cost and aggro of IVA and registration. There is a Russian chap that has a website offering to source good secondhand ones and help with all the translations, negotiations and paperwork for people prepared to fly out and drive back. I’ll be honest redratbike , I’m so hacked off with my Land-Rover just at this minute, I am considering selling it and all my spares and starting again with something else, but I don’t know whether this is a “frying pan to fire” scenario. 🤣🤣
