There are some formula V cars in the US that have somehow been registered for the road.
They still come up for sale every now and again.

One guy near me, Chris Runge, buys them and then turns them into Ally bodied Porsche type race cars for the road.

I wonder if you could buy a US road registered formula bee car and then just register it for the road in the UK?
I wonder what the minimum requirement would be for the road?

I’m stupidly lucky and (for now at least) own an Atom (Honda K series) and a Caterham (1600 X flow) and the Caterham wins hands down for road fun.
More controllable and more about the feeling of power rather than just outright speed. A bit like the difference of trying to extract that last 5% of speed out of an MG midget vs taking a corner at 70% in a fiesta RS.

I guess it’s all about what floats your boat.

I think you might be able to satisfy these criteria with a Clan Crusader. Rear engine, exceptionally lightweight for a closed car with proven handling. All in all a very *******achievable******* thing that ticks all your boxes, but no, not with the glamour or wind-in-the-hair / open to the air / sitting-in-a-puddle joy of a single-seater.

Back in the 70/80's there were a few single seat kit cars produced, might still be some kicking around with logbooks.
