Cards on the table, I am not a J-tin fan at all.
I love this though, it looks ace and is now bookmarked.

Finally got some of the front back together last night and used it to go to work in. Was hoping to have new chrome trims for the wings arrive soon but they haven't left Japan yet and no idea when they'll arrive but it'll all be coming back off anyways Really want to get into getting some big jobs done on this but have no time currently so it was nice to have it out for a day. Hopefully next update will be with the new digidash in 🤞

Not a perfect fit but I think with a bit of work it should look fine. Can't work out a way to do it nicely in my head so just going to get it fitted and decided later as I really want a working speedo now 😂 Hoping to get a chance to do some wiring on it later and maybe even get it back in the car soon

Had to have front bumper mounts made as they are no longer available so finally got the nos front bumper fitted Also new digital dash is in and working Now can actually tell how slow I'm going and gives me the option for showing boost, afr, anything else the ecu reads once I have the newer engine in

Not done much apart from driving it which is a good thing I guess but been busy ordering parts which arrived today Also after many headaches and trying to deal with people that make bits to rwd the toyota engine, I gave up and just bought a CA18DET engine and box. Been done many times to a 1200 so know it fits and was already mapped to 286bhp supposedly but will still be getting a standalone ecu for it Certainly needs some cleaning and tiding up as it goes in

Finally and update, put this in a garage towards the end of last year as the carb was playing up once again. Sat there untill a few weeks ago when we finished building our new garage ready for it to come home. Will only be getting an evening each week to get anything done on it unfortunately as I'm basically rebuilding the house at the same time 😂

It's very British racing green 😂 it'll be staying green but might go another datsun colour off the 240z. Realistically it's pointless me thinking about it as it's so far off that, also never get to the point of sorting bodywork out on any of my cars 😂

Had a mate help out one Saturday evening and we got the engine and gearbox out Spent some time pulling everything off the nissan engine Tonight, one of the bits I've been looking forward to getting bolted on. Servo with new master and hydraulic clutch Also the flywheel was badly worn so I started cleaning that up at work, and the new clutch kit arrived today too

Finally finished sorting out the flywheel today, had so many hard spots I had to grind flat, kinda the proper way to do it rather than turning it Placed the transmission tunnel in but it's looking like it's too big really so unsure what way to go with this now

Slow progress but getting something done. Finalised the new brake and clutch setup. Just waiting on another brake light switch to mount on the clutch pedal. Also mounted my tri strut brace

Not had a lot of time to get much done over the last few weeks but been taking bits to work with me to do during lunch time 😂 Got the subframe off and drilled out all the spot welds ready to make the new mounts, also found somewhere that does zinc plating so had a pile of engine parts done. Made some modifications to the throttle body and shot blasted and painted and even managed to get it all back together Had most of a day to work on it yesterday so roughly hacked the tunnel out Got the engine off the stand and got the gearbox back on and tried to get it in through bay but it wouldn't fit. So back on the floor and removed the box, dropped the engine in the bay then bolted the box on. It has a universal gearbox mount so that's ready to be bolted on but yet to make the mounts as I ran out of time

Always a bit worried about post pictures of things I've welded but I post it anyway. Mounts are mostly done on the subframe, generally I always get carried away and keep adding bits for strength even if it's not needed 😂 maybe to make up for the welding Also made up a little adaptor to run a Bmw tps sensor rather than the nissan one as it's a lot tidier Has been painted since and awaiting delivery of the correct screws for it. Also managed to find new old stock complete rear light unit and a new lense and chrome surround for the other side. Already had one new surround but the rear lights on these are almost impossible to find replacements for

Mounts finished, excuse the mess I work in 😂 Fitted it and couldn't help trying a few of the other parts on to check clearances. So happy with it currently, not sure on my timeline for it making it to the Weekender 2024 but not going to rush it It's snug but hopefully it'll all have enough clearance

Not much of an update, purchased a larger tunnel to fit a 1200 all the way from Australia to find it now where near fitted 🙄 so got cutting, loads of comments with having no clutch pedal room so I've adjusted that and the other side covers the seat mount but it is tacked in place and just have the passenger side to tackle now. Lost a bit of motivation for it recently with having loads of other stuff to do, hopefully I'll start making some proper progress on it soon

Lost a bit of motivation with this after finding a few repairs I wasn't happy with so got a mate round to look at sorting it and he's confident it is all sortable without cutting the thing on half and starting again 😂 So motivation is back and found a new old stock rear quarter panel for the dented side, can't imagine the last time a genuine rear quarter panel came up for sale for a 2 door sedan, so went off on a 550 mile round trip to collect it in the old passat Hopefully during the week I can get the engine back out and start sorting through bits on that once it's on the stand again

Engine and box are back out and started getting the engine tidied up, got quite a pile of new parts to fit. Pulled off the sump tonight as I had been told it had new bearings fitted so I wanted to check if it had the crank ground and condition of it, looks good also size is pretty good too The big end bearings have some wear though so trying to decide if it is worth just striping it down and changing bearings and fit some new rings before I get it in and running
