I think my eBay FPR is giving out. Well, I hope it is and its not the pump! Are the Sytec ones any good? I see loads for sale and it's a brand I vaguely recognise. Are there any better options in the same price bracket? It's going on a turbo MX5 engine.

Well, I got one.
I'll report back later with findings. I did notice that the bottom is branded Malpassi.

no, pointless 'upgrade' stick an appropriate oem style regulator on and be done with it, you should never need to adjust the pressure on fuel injection systems.

There is many reasons someone might need a fuel pressure regulator. I use one to convert from a return style fuel system to a none return fuel rail since its a none standard engine.

If that's the type with the hard plastic diaphragm, then that's what I've removed. It'd been on for about 3.5 years and I've never been able to get my AFR to read consistently. Recently it's been running lean without rhyme nor warning. It'd be fine, then decide to set itself at 18-1. I stripped the FPR down to find nothing actually wrong but decided to replace it anyway. It was on my list to upgrade and the cheap one was only bought to prove a principle. So far, AFR seem stable and consistent. I have only driven a few miles though.

Nope. It’s a soft rubber diaphragm. Have a look at my thread where I took it apart to clear it out when it sprayed fuel everywhere on first start up. I just bought the one that all the other Turbo LS guys purchased. P.
