On my usual (if not more anxious than usual 🙄) journey to work I spotted a car in traffic between the usual bland boxes. A car I've never seen before and guessing it's kit based. The middle was basically a Ford Capri shape, vinyl roof and typical Capri alloys. The bonnet looked odd as did the grill. The boot was like a saloon car, longer and flatter with different tail lights also?? Any ideas?

A Bristol 603 would for the bill. That's the one Dez I love the concept of Bristols (in both senses), but what were they thinking with their post 407 styling?

Bullet Capri? Have the real wheels been stolen the night before that meeting and only a set of far too small 205 alloys were there to move the car? Is that really a capri underneath? Screen and roof say yes, but even the quarter windows were changed?

Yep, that's actually a Capri braaap, I used to work with a fella that built and drove one. It looked pretty out of place on the building sites. You're right about those wheels, I remember seeing several of my friends running the Peugeot 205 wheels on their ford capris and cortina and I remember thinking back then that they were the wrong offset and far too deep in the arches to look good.

I used to have a soft-top DMS Bullit that my dad built. Never seen a coupe one before!

There were quite a few Capri based (well, any Ford based!!) kit cars and such in the 70's, 80's and 90's...!
I hope the one you saw can be found so your mind can be put at rest.
As long as it wasn't located on a grubby London side street and potentially Sunbeam Alpine based I think we will be ok!

Funny you should mention it; I thought it looked like an over-sized Ford Capri when I saw one at a show once!

Whenever I see a Porsche Panamera, I think of them Love how the blurb in the link compares it to an E Type Jag! Had the writer never seen a 240Z?
