OK, I am back, but up in Oxford, where the speed is still a bit slow, and I have about 370 car pics to upload, so 20 at a time, on a 1mp exposure takes time.
Well, in the land of no UK style BROADBAND.... this is a bit of a pain, so I will have to wait till I get in next weekend to show.
I have taken in excess of 500 pics on the roads since landing, deleted about 200 and still need to delete more.
However, where do you see 5 retro's at a traffic light ??
I have been to museums, etc , and had Claire contemplating murder, as I constantly have a camera at the ready for the rare and unusual which is apt to come flying past you on the motorway at well in excess of the national speed limit.
I will try find a way to start downloading before then.... so watch the space.
Missing this site like hell.
May have found a toy to buy and bring over as well ;D ;D ;D ;D

OK, So I lied....... Just to see the response.... Devide by about 14, and add 700Quid for transport, and you are getting closer to what has my heart beating. Linky: www.sedgeclasscars.com/details.php?CarID=272But then, who knows what the future holds for someone who pretends a Ford is a Chev, or vice versa... OH, and I am intoxicated here.....

Well, I landed here this morning at a temp of 1'C ....not so good when the last two weeks have been nearer 30'C
I have about 370pics, just of cars and then a bunch more of other stuff I got up to, like playing with 6month old Lion cubs, photographing a WHITE LION doing the wild thing.
I will start uploading when I can, to try create some sense out of all the havock.
You will see some more very covettable cars, some with telephone numbers attached.
If you need more info, let me know by PM, as it is often missed in the replies.
Oh, and I did not buy the Chev, but there are a few other "Back Burner items"

Got lucky on the trip out....LARGE emergency exit space, even I could get a rest. Though still restless compared to Claire. It was her first trip to South Africa..... Blissfully ignorant. Car security Africa Stylee !! Closer up, and suddenly alert. VW Trucks, new business in Africa. Progress pleases me. Ford Bantam Pickup, halftonner. Based on Fiesta/Mazda 323 Sorry guys, battle has commenced with uploading to Photobucket, not going well yet.

sounds like the ZA vuelta al mundo is proving to be good, been busy have you Grizz? Hi Martin, Yes, I have been busy, very busy indeed, between trying to settle my dads estate, getting money out the country, and photographing retros, without making Claire feel totally neglected, I did source you the rear windscreen you want, but have not been able to find a courier who is prepared to pack and transport it for you. However, on Wednesday morning I went to another courier, and it turned out his dad is a member, (senior) of "Glass SA" so maybe we have an inside contact, will follow him up later this week when I have had time to settle into the work routine. Will keep you up to date.

Don´t want this to sound wrong but do the people live in these shacks and have cars parked up outside? by the way, nice to have you back mate..... VERY GOOD TO BE BACK Dave !! Interesting thing is that for many of the people who live in the shacks, it is a choice they make. Some live there to be close to work, and then have a home elsewhere. For others it is borne out of necessity. Keep your eyes open later for pavement exhaust, tyre and other shops. It is Africa, and the rules are different. Some of these people will embarass me, if they were to show me their bank balances. There is no substitute for hard work, and in the end it does pay off. Unfortunately allong the way there is a lot of exploitation by people, by their own. Corruption is also MASSIVE. When we stopped outside the butchers the one day, I took a pic of the VW Citi Golf Police patrol car, and an indignant woman came up to me thinking we were plain clothes police officers, investigating missuse, and corruption, to tell us that the female driver had come past her along the motorway, splitting traffic, and then turning in to the butchers to buy meat. Anyway, last lot for tonight comming up.
