It's 2022, fuel is more expensive then ever, and I've decided to get rid of my 40+mpg volvo for a V8
Few things to note
I've recently changed jobs and can now cycle to work, that and I'm being paid more
I honestly can't see fuel prices ever dropping now and well, it's almost a now or never time for something silly.
That something silly...
A massive luxury tank, a Toyota in a posh frock.
2001 Lexus LS430
It's ugly, the colour is questionable and as always with cars I buy, some things need fixing.

It's got 209 thousand miles on the clock and doesnt look or feel like its done more than 100k
A run down of spec off the top of my head.
3UZ 4.3l V8 auto
Air suspension
Sunroof
Soft close doors and boot
Keyless entry
Double glazed
Auto xenons
Auto folding mirrors (heated and dimmed)
Auto dim Rear view mirror
Auto wipers
Front seats electric heated and cooled
Touch screen display with satnav
Stereo with factory sub (& bluetooth kit fitted & working wheel controls still on bluetooth)
Electric adjust steering wheel (with memory to key along with mirrors and seats)
Rear seats electric recline, headrest adjust, heated and massage.
centre arm rest has cup holders, display for stereo and stereo controls
Manual blinds on the side windows and electric blind in rear window
Can also adjust the front seats back/forward/recline from the back seats
That's all I can think of, there will be more though, daft things like seatbelt plug things lighting up, handles lighting up, rear seats going back to position when you open the door, blind going down in reverse, mirrors pointing down in reverse, rear seat reset button from the front, sport mode for suspension, power mode for engine/throttle response.
For modern day standards, some of these things are common now and maybe youre wondering why I'm listing them. But for a car built in 2001 I think its crazy. Some of the stuff on it though you don't see in modern cars, especially not as standard.
Out of all of that, only 2 things don't work
Sunroof and up/down movement on steering wheel. Everything else, as far as I'm aware, works.
Will see if I can sort the wheel adjust out, if not it can aparently be adjusted manually if you take cowling off.
Sunroof, the guy I had it off said motor works but is diconeccted as it was straining trying to move the sunroof. Seems common for these sunroof's to rust in the rails etc.
Hoping I can pull it out and try get everything moving again.
The seal is however curse word and I should probably just replace the entire thing, as the seal is a part of the glass and not a seperate thing.
Going to try and trick the level arms/sensors and slam it before Weekender, and give it a damn good clean.
Might try sort a few other bits before then too.
Exhaust is blowing, rear bags are loosing pressure when its sat, EML came on on drive back.
Long term plans are really just lows, wheels and exhaust, with the usual
