Some advice needed regarding front hub to strut bolts.
When I took it all apart one of the original bolt heads was completely rounded and one had been replaced with a bolt that was too short and didn't pass through the nut, which had been filled with black mastic π¬. I've put some high tensile (10.8 I believe) M12x1.5 bolts in with nyloc nuts. Will this be OK? Should I add washers?
Should I just buy some proper bolts? I thought that would be a simple affair, but I've just been to Toyota (I thought Toyota suspension Toyota Bolts) and they wanted Β£65! Extensive googling has only resulted in confusion.

Looking at a picture of the coil over, are they a 2 bolt at the bottom type or is that a stock image? If so you should be fine.
If they have a single bolt clamp at the bottom you want a bolt with an unthreaded shank.

Two bolts a la Mk1/2/3 Golf etc etc etc. They're 'camber adjustable' I.e the top hole is slotted, if that makes any difference.

I would use a washer on each side, the bolts will be fine, I usually try and use of ones with a decent length shank on but it's not critical.

I'll stick washers on them all when I'm re doing the alignment. The shanked bolts I have the shank is too long, or the threaded section too short depending how you look at it, although with a washer on each side it might be OK.

It almost looks like it has a body kit from that angle.

Sorted the alignment as best I could this morning. Then fitted the black boot plinth. Then maiden voyage to Lidl for shopping: Was a stressful drive, but fairly uneventful. Sounds like the front passenger spring is binding on the top mount. So I'll have a look at that this afternoon. Then this week I'm going full alignment and some 45 profile tyres for the front. If I get time I'll try and sort the droplinks as well.

Good to see it out and about, I think the black rear panel looks great and those wheels suit it really well... The rear lights actually work quite well with the colour, they stuck out like a sore thumb on mine but with a silver car they kinda blend in.

For the rear lights I've ordered some red tinting film. I'll give it a go and see how it looks.

I had planned to wind the coilovers down when I arrived to make it look cooler. Really wish I had because maybe I would have noticed the rubbing brake line and would be home now and not in Donnington Services travelodge waiting for my legend of a mate to come collect me with his trailer!

Well after setting off from RRG at about 4.30 yesterday I got home at 1ish today! Massive shout to my mate Mark who set off at 5.30am today to come get me. Since getting home I have replaced the brake hardline and flexi, so it's all sorted once more.

All the issues have been of my own making really and fundamentally it's a great car. Practical size, comfortable to drive, decent MPG and now it even looks OK π
