Hi everybody.
Does anyone have recommendations for good disposable mechanics gloves?
I have historically always gone for Kleenguard powder-free Nitrile but current price is £38 for 250 pack!
Although they're good I'm just struggling to justify the price and as I've been out of the realm of professional mechanics for many years now I probably have no idea what's available.
To me these gloves can be any colour but they must not split easily and they must allow the dexterity and be tight fitting. Can't have saggy fingers as it makes every job much harder if you have gloves like that.
Some of the cheaper ones split on the first touch of a nut or bolt and you go through the whole box really quick.
So has anybody got any good recommendations.

15p a pair doesn't seem to be an outrageous price unless I'm a bit out of touch.

This popped up on my suggested list the other day. I've not watched it to see how useful it'll be though.

That's a really good video but with it being American, with the top choices they aren't really available in this country!

I used to swear by Ansell Touch N Tuff gloves, in my experience they're excellent. Unfortunately they appear to be made with forced labour in Malaysia under horrendous conditions, apparently like almost all nitrile gloves. I use the ones I have until they split to reduce my impact on people and planet as much as possible, but I'm not sure what to buy next when my current stock runs out. Happy to pay a premium for ethically produced gloves; spending a few quid extra won't hurt me as badly as me buying ones from rogue manufacturers hurts the people making them under slave-like conditions.

Where would you buy them? I can only find them for £31 a pack. www.cromwell.co.uk/shop/personal-protection-and-clothing/disposable-gloves/92-600-touchntuff-disposable-gloves-green-nitrile-level-2-1-5-gi-powder-free-pk-100-size-8/p/ANS9616665ETo be brutally honest I'd treat 'hurty feely' articles from the Guardian with a bit of scepticism. There may be something to it but there's also probably far more to the story than meets the eye. For instance, the guys working to make the gloves would probably rather have some income than no income which may end up being their only two choices if the political activist who reported the problem got his way. Then you have to bear in mind the massive strain put on PPE supply due to the government deciding covid meant they had to spend heavily on PPE massively increasing demand with the factories hastily reconfigured to crank out this product.

This is a fallacy (google "false dilemma"). And this is another one (google "red herring").
I personally can't think of a single excuse for exploitation, but there you go.

I use Bodyguards GL890 - they are much more tear resistant than the black ones, but still thin enough to work even on intricate stuff. Find the right size and they are great. Avoid the temptation to go for the thinner GL895.

They look a bit thick. I think you'd be better off trying a different supplier for some good ones. Hence me asking as places like Euro Car Parts have stopped listing good quality gloves.

Try it the other way around. IF you're right and there is 'no excuse for exploitation' then why does something identified as such continue the-world-over every day? No comment on whether it's right or wrong... I'm just saying I don't think I'd trust the emotional reporting from the Guardian as a source for solving the worlds problems.

But hey, it's a combination of ignorance and not giving a fck I suppose. I personally like to be treated with decency and respect, so the least I can do is try and treat others the same way, for example by not buying stuff that is made under circumstances I would not wish for myself.

Ansell Touch N Tuff gloves are by far the strongest ones I've used.
I didn't know about the labour issues.
