2001 Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0TS
99k Miles
Part service history
MOT until Apr 23
We bought this car for a charity trip and whatever this car sells for will be going towards our Justgiving page here: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/thefourontour
It made it to Holland and back without any trouble, the engine pulls well, we also replaced the waterpump and did a cambelt change. It’s had a full service less than 1,000 miles ago, oil, filters, spark plugs etc.
We replaced the drivers side inner CV joint, the boot was split and we could hear the odd grinding noise occasionally. You can still hear this under hard acceleration, we suspect the outer CV joint has gone too so that will need replacing.
Body work
Free of any rust, all panels are decent apart from the bottom of the passenger rear quarter which has a dent but a good dent man should be able to pull this out. The car has age related marks, scratches etc. these are in line with the age of the car.
Interior
Black leather seats, nice and clean, no significant marks. Both door cards are good and the gearknob doesn’t have much wear.
All four tyres are decent and the car brakes well.
We checked the rear spring pads before purchasing and they are free of rust.
Bad bits
The passenger side window regulator doesn’t work and will need replacing.
It’s getting an intermittent engine management light, it mentions the cam sensor to be at fault. We purchased one of these but didn’t get the chance to fit.
Overall a good car to spend a bit of time cleaning up and fixing a few of the minor remaining issues. A couple of hundred pounds will mean you end up with a decent example.
Really enjoyable car to drive and it has made me fall in love with the Alfa Romeo brand
