Mazda MX3 1.6 Auto - £750 - P643GPE
Only 17 of these left on the road!
This MX3 was off the road for about 5 years until I found it. Remarkably after dropping a new battery on it, it was drivable! The following sensible recommissioning items were done:
• 4 new Avon Tyres
• New water pump, cam-belt and tensioner
• Rocker gasket cover
• Engine service
• Brake service
• Welding to rear sills
• Additional stuff like new wipers all round
I'd never driven an auto coupe like this before. Luckily it came with the owners manual and within a few minutes I was enjoying driving this unusual little car. I love taking it out at the weekend and I've only ever seen one other MX3 on the road. The mechanics are good with the auto box changing freely and giving a nice punchy ride with the lovely Japanese 1.6 DOHC engine. The interior looks (and smells) great. The exterior of the car has had some rattle can action and a dent in the rear quarter so is the area I would be looking at next....except...I needed something to tow a 1979 Eccles Topaz Vintage caravan and my mate was selling his turbobrick sooooo. I'm on a strict 1 project car rule which means sadly the MX3 has to go. This rare MX3 has a lot to offer and I'd like to see someone continue improving it.
The MX3 currently has :
12 months MOT (as of Oct 2022)
Not just 2 but 3 keys!!!
Electric windows
Electric sunroof (no leaks)
Central locking
Original handbook
Original service book (with stamps)
Original Clarion stereo (in good working order) with manual
Parrot Bluetooth (with manual)
Original sales brochure
Lots of receipts
93K Miles
Private plates replaced with P643GPE (Photo's were on the old plate hence blurring)
