Hey Folks,
I've been meaning to get something like this in motion for a while, but what with one thing and another not got there. However now is the time!!
What is the chat thread? We live in a world with a lot of bite sized content and this forum is built around perhaps more meaty things (build threads, show photo galleries, technical questions, etc.). This thread will run for a week at a time and is the place to drop those smaller things you've seen (and chat about them!). So links to interesting articles, an Instagram post, a video and all that smaller scale stuff the internet produces now.
If this takes off I'm sure it will evolve over time, but for now let's see what happens.

I kinda like that everything is dechromed on that apart from the bumpers.

I kinda like that everything is dechromed on that apart from the bumpers. Yeah I'm having a hard time working out what to do with my Sunny, the chrome around the windows isn't great so thinking of doing something with that, maybe make it black to match the bumpers, but then I see things like this and I think maybe I need to take the bumpers back to chrome and look at body colouring the trim. Difficult (and spendy) decisions that I'll soon have to commit to!

I kinda like that everything is dechromed on that apart from the bumpers. I'm not good enough with photoshop to mock them up but maybe someone is... Although I've been reading through and scanning in loads of old Street Machine mags lately, so I think you're better off painting everything in pastel shades and bolting on some three spokes...

I spend idle moments browsing mobile.de and Autoscout24, it's easy content for Instagram stories etc. This is my favourite thing today so far: So pretty. Why did they never do one here with the Chevette front? I suspect they did in Brazil, off to research...

so I think you're better off painting everything in pastel shades and bolting on some three spokes... These are good instructions for all cars! ... swear I've not seen that 1800ES before, that is amazing, would be a brave thing to do now. Little lunch time viewing for later

swear I've not seen that 1800ES before, that is amazing, would be a brave thing to do now. I wonder what relatively modern stuff would work? Passat CC or early Audi A5, peppermint green on massive three spokes... Or something small like an ur-Twingo. Really love those at the moment. They're cheap too, reckon they'll be going up in price as people begin to appreciate what they are and they slowly disappear from European roads.

Its undoubtedly lovely, but on insta I'd probably scroll straight past as it's very much "anywhere in the world modified retro Japanese car by numbers". I think that is why most things are bitesize now, it takes something very special or different to really need much of a description of what has been modified. I do keep getting this popping up on my feed. Literally couldn't be more German, and not a look that anybody really does anywhere else. http://instagram.com/p/CjpGbstII6Z

I understand the "I want my willy to be bigger than your willy" mentality in car modifying but it just looks unbelievably naff. The same way this: Spawned this: then this: Or indeed this Leading to: or

There's only one way to know where the limits of these things are, and that's for someone to build it and find out...

There are only three or four cool Ferraris IMO, and they are one of them. Here's a Number 27 video about one that I haven't got round to watching yet!

In other news, some marketplace browsing has thrown up my perfect modest lottery win Ferrari. Apologies if the photos are rubbish as ive saved from the ad on my phone namless and I were wondering if this was legit the other day : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234723158663I'm a big fan of the 400i Obligatory Daft Punk I made my (currently) perfect Ferrari in Need For Speed : Heat yesterday as it happens

That looks way too clean for £18k though something has been enjoying eating the interior, and I don't imagine recommissioning a dormant v12 comes particularly cheap
One of the things I like most about the 400 and most of the other big GT Ferraris is that they're often not painted red 😅 there's only so much Rosso Corsa you need to see
