I have chickens myself, we love them and they give us a lot of pleasure. They were almost a therapy animal for my son and wife during covid.
Anyway on Tuesday night it was reported on our village Facebook that 3 Cockerals had been dumped. My wife and a neighbour tried to catch them but no joy. They had been on our minds over night so I set out to get them on Wednesday night and succeeded. I waited till dusk knowing they would have settled down.
So now the task of trying to re-home them. If they had been chickens we would have kept them but fear the noise they will make will be too much for our neighbours.
Will happily deliver locally or partway.

They look in good condition. Tempted to take one to compete with the neighbours yapping dog, see how they like it! (I really want a peacock, but Mrs Generallee hates the sound of children being killed.) Hope you find somewhere for them. Are they ok all together? Or are the relaxed as long as no hens are about?

I wanted one for Christmas - but because of Avian flu in East Anglia non of the butchers could get one for me
So I had an Indian instead
Should I get my coat?

They are in great condition. At the minute there separate to my hens and have a decent sized area. The hens don't seem to be bothering them

Add to the first list 10 places I called on Friday and my wife using Facebook to send around 15 Msgs to various places things weren't looking great. Most rescues are full, several couldn't take on as they were literally closing due to lack of funding but most wouldn't take on due to the Avian flu outbreaks up and down the country. I then resorted to phoning a few poultry breeders locally and found a chap out near Scunthorpe that would take them on. So Weller, Foxton and Buckler (yes I named them!!) have found a new home. And we came away with a new hen 🐔
