Good shout, I've used them before for a couple of things. Just realised they have Porsche parts and I want US Spec orange repeaters for my 996, £20 a pop from Rock Auto. I've previously used Rose Passion for Porsche parts : www.rosepassion.com/ and they are great, even easier now the website has more English on it, but also courtesy of Brexit it is less useful than it once was (used to be like 24 hour turn around to have things delivered). I did notice having gone back on for the first time in a while they have some more bits that I want that seem cheaper than Design911 (which is the default UK option). Don’t discount your OPC. Mine and Sutton Coldfield Porsche were way cheaper than some specialists. Porscheshop were charging over 5 times the price on some parts

I used Rock Auto recently and they were great, only thing that would be better with the website is if they told you which location an item shipped from as its cheaper to buy all the items from the same location if you can to save postage even if an item might cost a bit more in itself. I worked it out with what I ordered but it wasn't straightforward. This. If you are ordering a lot of parts you will pay three or four shipping charges because they are filling the orders out of a bunch of third party warehouses. They do have the A/B/C style indication telling you if a part ships from a location of a part that's already in your cart. I use that all the time to narrow down my choices for cheaper shipping. Sometimes they only have a certain amount of a part in stock at the location you need so keep an eye on that when you need more of a certain item. I love Rockauto too, even with the 30-40% taxes and charges that get slapped onto the bill here in the Netherlands they are still cheaper than local parts stores.

I'm after some wheel bearings for my Avalanche. Rock Auto seem to be cheaper than the Cheap ones on ebay. I have had bad experiences with the Cheap ones on my Voyager (failed in less than 1000 miles) so am a little concerned at the origin of the Rock Auto items because of their crazy low price. Anyone bought bearings from them in the past that can comment on the quality?

Even the brands will be made in China nowadays though, almost nothing of that type is made elsewhere now. I’ve never had a bad part from rockauto, but have had plenty from local motor factors (blueprint etc.).

Thanks Dez, I've got a shopping list of about £500 of parts I want to get so I think I'll just go ahead and place an order.
