Hi all
Got a another hour or so in after tea, couldn't face plumbing so I fitted the volt meter and usb socket to the kitchen unit, all wired in and working plus I connected the electronic ignition on the hob.
Rum time now
Cheers Mike

Hi all,
made an early start today, its much cooler thank god.
Have finished wiring/plumbing the kitchen so we now have running water and a working hob.
I wasn't happy with the set up for the split feed into the controller so have added a voltage sensing relay to ensure that the starter battery is fully isolated when the engine is not running.
That's it for today, shower and water heater to fit tomorrow and ceiling panels on monday and she will be done.
Cheers - mike

Hi all
another steady day today.
Not a lot achieved and a bit fed up. The water heater, shower head and bathroom plumbing are in.I fired up the water heater and it took around 30 mins to get up to a decent shower temperature. The system is a low pressure system with a pressure switch used to control the pump and deliver hot water on demand, however, the pressure switch lasted about and hour before it split and leaked, top quality chinese curse word strikes again. On checking it was a well known british brand but the packaging now states "made in china". Its getting harder to find quality parts.I have another on the way. One of the reasons for trialling the water heater was to assess the power consumption, battery voltage started at 13.5 volts and dropped to 12.6 when the heater was on and once the heater was up to temp recovered to 13.5 volts in around 30 mins which is not too bad for an overcast showery day.
I have connected the fridge and its currently coming down to temp. It's a bit of an upgrade from the standard one as it's got a decent sized freezer box.
Jobs for tomorrow are to tidy up the wiring in the wardrobe, seal the bathroom with white silicone and make and fit the remaining ceiling panels.
Cheers - mike

Hi all, Have spent most of the day today making closing and ceiling panels. The centre one is done and fitted, I have added four led lights with remote control and a led strip light above the kitchen so just the front one to finish and then the bathroom one. Had to go to A&E as I think I've had a pvd in my left eye. Got to go to the eye clinic tomorrow as there's a tear in my retina which may need surgery. Cheers - mike

Hi all, Have just about finished this one, just waiting for a new pressure switch to arrive. There's a bit of sealing to do in the shower and a shelf to make and fit in the wardrobe. Cheers Mike

electric water heater, from battery? I can't see how that would ever make enough heat. Nice build tho.

A heat exchanger that uses engine heat from the heater circuit to heat water in a tank might be a cool way to get free hot shower.
