I am only 23, I say reading, I mean looking at the pictures ;D I'm more than happy having bad taste if it means I get to drive a wide-arched Escort Panique kit anyone? ;D

I wonder where all the wide arch stuff has gone. Where have all the wheels gone? I love 80s look cars, but this current fashion of 80s look clothing makes me LOL at most of the gimps wearing it. As my mum says "it was curse word in the 80s"

There was a Koenig SL not too dissimilar to this in the showroom of the local Ford dealer, down the road from where I was at school. The Testarossa strakes were much more prominent though, possibly because the car was white with lots of red detailing.... - very '80s!!!

Man, what an outstanding thread!!! I used to spend hours dreaming of Franko Sbarro creations and/or gullwing doors! The gullwing doors may well come to fruition one day!!

There was one of these on ebay a while back but I'm not sure if it was a scam auction. Looks pretty good I reckon.

looking at the "spec sheets" for some of those adverts, the wheels on some were 15"x13". crazy!! thing is, where are all the used wheels from back then? can you imagine a time warp junkyard where everything inside was styled like these cars??

This thread reminded me of these: They look quite understated compared to the rest of the cars though.

Dear God, there's some truly horrific motors on this thread isn't there? Still magical viewing though and some pant wettingly funny hillee funny halla cars. Anyhow you'll be glad to know I'm here to even things up with some of the truly great creations of the eighties...

Wrong wheels I know but the car is the star! It should be running on the SRi 130 alloys of course.

WTF is that Blaupunkt thing? Some kind of heads-up radio display? Is it the primitive equivalent of those controls you get on the steering wheel now? All those buttons ftw!

OH MY!! ;D I wonder if 17yr olds now will be looking back in fifteen or years time a going Korrrrr look at that KingDom front bumper or Novadose bodykit on that Nova? ;D Loving all the eighties over-the-top ness though - its funny looking back at what our ideas of what the future will be - knowing now that it all went 'blobby' & rounded Cavaliers & Sierras ;D Can remember oogling over the Kamei kits advertised on the back page of my dad's VW Motoring magazines - I so wanted him to get the front skirt, clear plastic stone guard, & black vent cover thing for the back window for our 65 Beetle..... which would have looked so wrong on many levels ;D Can also remember a green Mattig kitted Mk2 Astra driving around these parts about 96-98ish, it was featured in Max Power magazine, in which I remember it said the rear tyres were from something like a Lamborgini & cost a fortune - luckily they never wore out since the car was still FWD. Talking of Max Power - a local lad won Project MadMax - the Reiger kitted orange Corrado, which he pranged And hence lost its paint fade & became one shade of orange all over. The thing with these cars is they needed the wide - and expensive wheels to go with the kit - there was also a Dimma kitted 205 that lived locally but still had the standard 1.6 GTi wheels on it This bit of Northamptonshire seemed like wide arch central in the mid nineties..... we were obviously ten years out of date ;D
