I know I'm quoting out of context but I loved my life in the 80's Sorry didn't mean to offend. My mum hasn't got a problem with the 80s, she just laughs at this current fashion of people wearing clothing they think was what people in the 80s wore, but really only about 3% of the population did. Here's one but it looks a bit different to the ones I've seen in the past... Hmmm i know there were two versions, one for 1303s and one for traditional beetles. The rear was pretty much the same but the front bumper was differently styled, the wings too, to allow for the more snub-nosed style on the strutted model. That pic though looks like a modified one, the cutouts in the rear wing I've never seen before and the square headlamps aren't standard either.

I suspect that the 80s were no more curse word than the 60s, 70s or 90s to be honest. I was born in 1971 so I really started taking an interest in music, cars etc in the 80s so I have fond memories. If you were born in 1981, the 90s would be more your thing.

This is still acceptable now in my eyes Favourite. VW. Ever. Mine too ! i'd love to see a pillarless mk 2 golf done in this style . Thump thump style golfs with targa roofs and such would certainly stand out amongst all the BBS split rimmed golfs on the "scene" that 928 looks like a Strosek modded one

Unfortunately I completely missed the 80s (I'm a thoroughbred 90s kid), but these properly done wide arch kits are MEGA cool.

This bit of Northamptonshire seemed like wide arch central in the mid nineties..... we were obviously ten years out of date ;D Even I remember wide kitted 205's, Clio's and the like in and around Wellingborough in the mid-nineties... especially if they were having a bit of a 'do' up at the Pod. Tesco's carpark used to be packed with bright coloured machinary on a Summer's weekend, used to be the only time I wouldn't moan about going shopping with my Mum.

Specialists in brightly-coloured R5GTTs? Oh yes I believe it was my Maths book at school which had the orange Skeete R5 plastered all over it.... Science was a purple Dimma 205, and English was the Power Engineering S2 RS Turbo, bright red with cutout front bumper and some crazy-ass power figure. For some reason French was a, now I look back, rather tasteless black and yellow E30 beemer. All cut out of Max Power and lovingly applied

All cut out of Max Power and lovingly applied me and a mate had quite an indepth conversation about our formative years of buying max power and the like. we were discussing whether or not we actually looked at the reiger kitted affairs with longing or not. and i honestly cant remember. i do remember liking dimma 205's and there was a nice red renault 5 with a wide arch kit and 5 spokes on it. i also remember a euro look fiesta with borbets on it. he says he remembers a reiger kitted dark burgundy escort estate that he thought was the t1ts.

There's a very scruffy Dimma 205 near where I live. Quite tempting to rescue it, but I can tell that there's gonna be nothing but ferrous oxide beneath its plastic bodykit panels! ;D

But the flaps are part of the "It's a T16 rally car. Honest, guv!" effect! ;D
Needs that Mitsu Evo bonnet scoop changing for a proper T16 one for the win!

Does any remember (i'm going back a few years here) a Nova Salloon that was featured, possible in a blue or purple shade (can't be sure) that had the vents off a Nissan Bluebirds rear quarter on the bonnet. Remember that being my dream car when I was like 8-10. Also a Mk3 Passat Salloon in bright Lime Green was another favourite. Looking back I can't believe my parents bought these mags for me now lol. Would love to see pictures of either of those two though.
