Looking good. Check out my rattle can tips on another thread for when you paint it. Can't remember the exact thread title but it's got rattle can in it and features HotWires lust for painting his Golf!

I know how you feel, as I have too many models that I'm building at the moment (as well as several more waiting to be started, which I won't bother listing here...):

Plastic kits:
1:8 scale Jag E Type Coupe (Revell not Pocher, unfortunately)
1:24 '64 Pontiac GTO hardtop (couldn't resist as grandad used to have a convertible)

The following are all scratch built:

'37 Riley Lynx Sprite tourer (all opening panels etc) - chassis and all body done, but needs repainting as I haven't done anything for about 4 years - the rest is still to be made. Approx 1:16 scale, with balsa chassis, wood wheels, & paper / card body panels. Silver foil for chrome.

Jensen Interceptor Convertible (all opening panels etc) - chassis / understructure built, all running gear / mechanicals awaiting finishing & fitting. Still need to do outer panels & interior. Paper, with wood wheels & axles. Approx 1:14 scale.

VW Beetle Hebmuller - being made as a proper cut out paper / card kit, so no opening panels unlike the rest of my scratch builds, which are far too complicated. Almost finished, but have been too busy recently. 1:18 scale

When I get the chance, I'll take some pics of the scratch-builds, if anyone is interested

I've been building this A10 Violet SSS coupe (Nissan Auster in Japan) since the dawn of time it seems. Haven't touched it for months

It was a stock body but I added the wide arches from a Skyline kit and mad the spoilers etc from plastic card. It was one of the motorised Japanese kits so I ditched everything and put it on a 510 chassis from another kit with lots of scratch made stuff including the engine bay, interior paneling and cage. I might finish it before retirement..maybe I just don't get the time
I started with this old Fujimi kit...

Yes please, pictures of scratch built cars from AS. Ever seen BareMetalFoil? It's fantastic. I use it for all my chrome work.

RatDat, you're too clever by half. That looks superb.

Tonycocacola, I used to do military stuff and learned loads from reading Military Modeller (I think), especially the really clever ones who scratch built using brass etc.

ahh bare metal foil.i love that stuff.got some gold for the trim on the impala.having difficulty trying to make tassles for round the windows though.it was much easier on a real car .
been into modelling(ahem scale) for well over twenty years.mostly cars and military.had some of my finest creations on display in the local model shop,which has now sadly closed.
i can never find time to do them anymore.shame.
you guys have inspired me again,so i mite dig them out

talk about projects, at the moment i've got a 1929 ford model A pick up, a Mustang GT350H, VW Beetle, plus others which i haven't even started! ;D

just finished re-painting a VW samba i picked up from home bargains for 3quid, quite impressed!

For one tassle, take a piece of gold sweet paper foil (or similar) glue a piece of gold thread to it for dangling, then roll the paper really tight. Glue. When dry, cut to length of tassle, then make a series of cuts down the length of the roll to make the tassle bits. SOunds simple, but I've never tried it, just an idea.
