I'm having a nightmare trying to get a classic car policy because of my age. I'm 20 and on most classic policies you have to be 21! Anyone got any suggestions to who i can try? I'll only do about 3000 miles a year in it as its my 2nd car.......and i can't afford to pay another big premium.....

All the classic policies I've asked about have said that you don't build up any NCB on them. Which is ridiculous... I mean you either make a claim or you don't, regardless of what policy it is . Are they all like this or do some insurers give NCB on classic policies?

I've emailed them back querying it as it seems very expensive, lets see what they say.

I questioned why it was so high and they had this response,
'This is the best quotation that we are currently able to provide.'

Yeah getting a bit sick of it, when i was using the MG daily last year i had it insured for £1300ish with business use, fully comp, agreed value and an annual mileage of 15000. But they don't do limited mileage

Its a 1978 MGB GT, i've just tried footman james and it sounds promising from some of your quotes.
Fingers crossed again!

Jesus Lancaster must have something wrong then.
Mine is a 74 Lots of modds inc rollcage(removable)
and i only pay 450 i am 23 but i have never paied more than that not even on my 1500 midget when i was 17 and i modded that loads and told them
one other good one my mate uses who has a 6.6 ltr BGT is Norwich Union he only pays 600 and is 21 so worth a try

How about putting named Mature drivers on your policy? I've heard this lowers the premium.
