A friend has leant me a dvd of this show.
Weird. They've been "restoring" a 67 Mustang. OK so they bling it all up nicely etc but they just seem to be painting over the rust etc. The car had NO floor, huge holes, so they just riveted a sheet of steel over it!!
Does anyone know how long these cars are meant to last after they've been done?

That's nothing! I heard of a guy riviting a sill repair on a Ford pop on one of thease shows and said that was the "easiest way for a DIY'er to fix thier car"!!!!!!!! WTF!!? It may be easy but it is not fcuk'in right!
I know the show is all about "Bling" but you would think they might get the shell in a good condition first! Craaaaaaazy!

It's a blessing in disguise really, it saves anyone having to drive around in the disasters that they're making on the show! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Although a 67 Mustang being ruined like that's a bit not on!

I hate that program. Just the name "Pimp My Ride". It spells it all.
Also, Ive rarely seen them do anything to the engine, which, of course, is by far the most important part of the cars.
They don't have a clue what they are talking about either. I remember them using one excuse for why the car needs "modding". And it was to do with its badge. They said the car is confused because the badge was wrong. But it wasn't, it was the cars original make before they were bought out.

A couple of years ago some TV show approached JLH Motorsport to show off modified Minors, the lads took a couple of cars to the shoot and had a play, Tiff Needle (Sorry don't know how to spell his name) drove one of the cars! But when we asked if any engnine shots were wanted they said "No, the public won't want to see under the bonnet".......? Hummmm....

I saw the pimp my ride with the mustang, that car looked great before they 'pimped' it, why do they always seem to paint the cars green???

It's just another way for americans to prove to the world how stupid they are ... if they want to 'naturally select' their way out of this world with dodgy cars, I for one will gladly grab the popcorn and get me front row seat!!

And another thing - the people that own the cars they do up don`t seem to be able to afford to run them as they are, let alone the cost of replacing the 23" tyres that get slapped on them And then there`s the neighbourhood (or should that be "hood" ) they live in - looks to me like the cars going to get trashed within a week anyway ! Or am I just being a b1tch ?! Be interesting to see how many of them turn up on the US Ebay - might go and have a nose .....
