Can we have some clear guidance on the max. permissable size of sig. pics please? There are some pretty gigantic ones cropping up again, & I can't be the only one who gets pi$$ed when more of a page is taken up by sigs than with the actual text / pics of the thread!!?? Apologies if I sound like a whiney old fart.....

Generally they are quite good on here, mine got smaller this year after getting done elsewhere, it was too long, but its smaller and juicier now anyways. There are some hideous giddy collections of sigs elsewhere though and theres no need IMO.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Most forums use a similar rule 600 x 100 I think...... Just going off to check mine

As 'certain' members have inappropriate ones, can we set a rule on content as well? I've already PM'd such member (!) who hasn't agreed to remove it I know too many rules are bad - but we do have members under the age 18 on here.

i think as there's no hardcore, we should be alright... i can't remember the last time i opened a paper and didn't see a naked woman, and i don't even get the sun or sport. Now don't think I'm rebelling against mods, these issues always cause rifts that could otherwise be avoided. When i was under 18 i wasn't stupid, and I'd get quite offended when people would take me as such. As long as its not illegal, then why not? Again, not wanting to curse word anyone off, i but i have noticed a level of tension that never used to be here, it would be nice if it went back to how it was. just my 2 cents, which wasn't asked for, but i gave anyway ;D

Seeing as we are discussing it JM2pW - Is this forum about cars - damn sure it is? - I don't read the Sun or any paper/magazine that features naked females (No I don't read papers or magazines with naked men in it either BTW) - I think signature should be relevant and car related and not huge!!! (If you want to post big pics there is a gallery for that - fill yer boots) There ya go ;D And with that post I reached the giddy heigts of 100 posts - time for a drink I think!!!!!

about 100 high and whaterver the corosponding width is...does do my head in when the sigs are really big...but generally decent sized sigs are around here.
i don't want rules about sig size etc etc because then it just 'waters down' RR and becomes like all the other crappy forums. I reckon if someone's sig is too big or whatever they should be asked to change it via PM....my 2p for this evening...

i hope it didn't come across as i was critising the running of the forum as i wasn't. i just know that forums can become heavily regulated, lots of rules, lots of things you can't do and the ever noticable threat of being banned. I don't think anyone has been banned here and i am most certainly not suggesting that anyone has been threatened with such 'punishment' i just worry when you begin to see the starting stages. saying that, as Ratlook... said this is a fast growing forum and it does need to move with the times and I am convinced that there will be fallings out between members (i know that i have managed to 'disagree' with someone in a public thread) but i don't believe this warrants the need for rules etc . I hope admin agrees here and i was not insinuating that you were trying to phrase in a load of rules as the membership grew. Having read this you are probably quite curse word off with me, thinking that i am slating this forum and don't see it's mighty great points but in fact it is more of a general observation of other forums on the web and where i don't want RR to go.
I hope i haven't offended anyone.

Healthy debate is never a bad thing..........
I personnally hate big sigs - it's what people say in the posts I'm interested in..... Just can't be doing with having to mouse wheel down at breakneck speed to get past big sigs!!!

I hope i haven't offended anyone. This guy impresses me so much. He actually runs his own forum, and frankly it's damned good and I love it! Maybe that's why I virtually live there, and because he recommended me to this forum,I've started to virtually live here too. By the way, in case I haven't mentioned it before, congratulations RR admin/staff on a great forum, it's very refreshing after some bad experiences on other forums. I realise forums are hardly life and death, but it's so good to come here and see such a huge variety of cars and topics. WELL DONE.
