Well I spent a couple of hours there today (and 13 quid to get in!!).
Not a good investment of time or money in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, there were some beautiful cars there, some very lovely cars indeed BUT.... I don't call 3-4 stalls selling old car parts an autojumble. The rest of the stalls were more interested in selling toy cars, leather polisher, brand new alloy wheels (for use on a Hummer!) and air guns!
I spoke to a couple of the traders there and they weren't too happy either, especially the ones selling car bits. The owners stands were generally quite good, although the only Ford ones were Capri Club International and AVO Club, there was no Peugeot or Renaults, the only J one was the MR2 Owners club. The Practical Classics stand was a big let down, although they were selling the mag for a quid. (As were Classic Cars shame I'd bought the mag a week earlier!)
I don't think I'll bother next year. I've half a mind to write to them and complain. The Enfield Show which is held about 5 miles away is far, far better. In fact most of the other shows that I've ever been to have been far better.
If I were to sum the Ally Pally show up in one word it would be....Disappointing.
Anyone else go? What did you think?
