Just a thought.... is it worth having a sticky thread (perhaps in the For Sale and Wanted) section of recommended services and traders? Probably doesn't warrant a whole sub-forum, but could be a useful tool for anyone looking for some professional help! EG. I just found a great transport company - and the question of logistics often arises..... or good quality welders or retro-sympathetic garages etc. What do we think?

I'm thinking of doing a forum for this kind of stuff, particularly for RR based businesses, like Jon Cedric's and MantaA16V's ...

we could also use a recommended thread for products we've used and were happy with or even ones we werent happy with. eg halfords back to black is rubbish, motor worlds back to black is great.

Places like DJ Services, too. Small independant garage in Leighton Buzzard that is fantastic at working on older cars. Not because I work there , from time to time, but because the owner's very enthusiastic about anything mechanical and really knows his stuff, from SUs and tuning, to manifolds, to CANBUS systems on new cars.

great idea, on LTV VW forums we have a reccomended contacts section, like the Readers Rides section we stick to a set layout then let people post comments.
I think the bit at the bottom is quite important

Don't like the idea of 'non-recommended' places or products, could quite easily turn into a slagging match. Also it's too easy to post non-constructive critisism when you're trying to put people off a place, but to recommend somewhere it's natural to say why.
Do like the idea though, some kind of rating system too so if certain places/products/people keep appearing they're scored higher. Like a McDonalds Star on the namebadge, but without the burgers.

Never trust a man Who names himself Trevor. Or one day you might find He's not a real drug dealer.
