Whoa James, ever kinda wish you had resisted the urge to 'prod with a screwdriver'? lol I say go for arches. I didnt think that led to Q plate. Even if it did, I still say go for it. In fact, go for full on berg cup spec! Be a bear and be a grizzly!!! Love to you guys, keep on it buddy!
I actually quite happy I prodded, lots of bits have been caught early and can be saved, lucky really, any more (i.e. floor and inner sills) and I would have scrapped the shell :/
I'm going to stick with steel this time round, then the next project will be spaceframed widearchness, with something like that there is no point doing it by halves, and you don't get much more by half than a 'semi' spaceframe car! So steel it is!
Although I am currently feeling a bit out of my depth, I cant even work out an efficient manner to remove the patches that are currently tacked over the holes trying to do an hour every night to keep the project moving at a sensible pace, and I'm going to call the panel supplier today and arrange a visit at some point (he is only just down the road, would be silly to not try and glean some knowledge!).
I'm going to try and cut off the drivers side arch and get a full replacement panel, then use the arch that has been cut off to effect repairs on the passenger side arch. Then two new outer sills and repairs to the inner arches at all four corners, probably find some more as I go along too
