I won't be there when you cross the road, so always use the Green Cross Code.

Went to a posh (well fairly) restaurant (well jumped up pub really) at the w/end with the family to celebrate my nan's 90th (gawd bless her!). As it was in Bromley the car park was chocktastically full of X5's, mercs and other shiny symbols of capitalist success.
So I was pleasantly surprised to see a lovely 1976 (R reg) Ford Consul (I think it was, rather than a granny as it was all chromeless with skinny tyres) Estate in flat red looking very retro and adding a much need touch of class to the car park!
Obviously hadn't been restored or anything, just very well looked after.
Nice.

Its funny how seeing an old car can almost catch you out, i'm quite often 'galavanting' around central London for work.
Amongst the hoards of suprisingly tatty looking X5s latest model Porsches, Mercs and Beemers etc etc, I quite often see the odd retro car. They tend to be those cars that are percieved to be chic & fashionable like Fiat 500s, MK1 Minis, 'pagoda' roof Mercs and Peugeot 304s. Having said that I'm sure theres a number people that are so filthily rich that they feel theres no need to keep up with the 'Jones' and are quite happy to run around in their rusting 'D' reg Saab 900 - abeit with the number plate 'A1' ;D

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

I think the 'real' posh people (as opposed to 'ten bob millionaires' ) tend to drive shabby old workhorses, as they've got nothing to prove....

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

I see a bronze MK1 granny GTX saloon on my way to uni most mornings. I'm usually late because I stop for a while to look at it ;D

Just walked the carpark of the Lidl supermarket in Wellingborough and spotted a mint one of these.. I briefly peered in at the interior and noticed that the odometer read 6100 miles They are a really different looking car without being too quirky - I love the tiny spoilery type thing along the back edge of the roof.
