I learnt to drive in a Metro - ever since then I've sworn I'd never drive another - horrible (for me) driving position being the worst part, that - and it's just a bland bit of BL tin.. Damn you Slater - I want one now, to do what you've done to yours to it! :applause: Ok - I'd probably still never drive it, just sit & appreciate how good it looks!

Have to agree about the driving position. Its made for 4ft tall grannys! i have the seat right back, my head touches the roof and my knees touch the steering wheel! I'm only 6ft 2ish :/

That would just make matters worse, It needs the seat runners moved back (and down) but its not a simple job to make it look good

I used some gasket remover and scotchbrite. You can use a wire wheel in a drill if itsnot too harsh.

did a bit more today, ordered a cam and clutch on thursday so i can finish the bottom end (need clutch to balance crank!) Head is awaiting fitment of some seat inserts. Regrinding rockers Before on the right, you can see where they wear Rocker parts redy for assembly - new shaft Assembled with some graphogen Then i cleaned and honed out the block Then fitted cam bearings and painted - After much delibiration i went for a maroon colour to match the interior Oh and check my new sticker

Mmmm, nice looking shiny engine parts ;D Going back to the rockers (and this is an honest question not a "you don't want to do it like that" comment), aren't they case hardened? So by grinding them back you go through the hardened surface? Or is the hardening deep enough?

Well they are sintered, I'm not exactly sure how they are heat treated after that.
To be honest ive never done a set of a+ sintered rockers before as on the high revving non turbo engines i have built they have gone straight in the bin in favor of the much better pressed steel ones, Its a bit of an experiment i guess but I'm not too bothered as they are easy to change if needs be and if they break they wont do much damage.
