Nah, no classic car is safe from the law! ;D ;D Seriously though, I get the felling that that's more of an urban legend than a real thing, I'm sure if they were going to use a secret symbol that indicated you were above the law they'd be more subtle about it, this one's not on there but there are lots of similar urban legends on www.snopes.com that deal with that sort of thing, ideas that a certain sticker on your motor means you're part of the Freemasons, or the KKK, or some religious sect, or whatever other shadowy organisation the person telling the story wants to believe is using secret symbols to get away with stuff.

No, they don't. My Dad is a traffic cop and I had a conversation with him and about 15 of his workmates about those stickers once. They mainly reckoned you were *more likely* to get pulled if anything, because you obviously don't want to be ;D

Told you it was an urban legend! ;D ;D [Rev 9's Freudian psycho-curse word bit] I could be all psychological and say that stuff like this, and rumors about how you can put hairspray over your numberplates and be resistant to speed cameras, etc, are a response to drivers' observations that we're being cracked down on more these days, and that classic owners in particular seem to get picked on by the law-makers constantly, and our response to our feelings of persecution is to try and even the playing field with some kind of cheap and easy dodge to make us immune to the law and get the government off our backs. Unfortunately for our egos these dodges don't work, and as DarrenW says you're often more likely to get into trouble, or hassled at least, if you try and dodge the law. [Rev 9's Freudian psycho-curse word bit/] Then again I'm probably talking curse word! ;D ;D ;D ;D

As another coppers son I'd agree with this. Particularly if the policeman in question was keen, you may be surprised to hear it but some take a very dim view of other coppers trying to get away with things!
