Designed by YAmaha and an all alloy lightweight screamer Totally different animal ;D and with a type 9 box and a supercharger on the side is still lighter than the opel 1200 that came out

Nice , didn't know yamaha made a 1.6 zetec(sigma) too I thought it was just the 1.8 Erm no they made a 1.25 1.4 1.6 and 1.7 vvc Sigma motor Standard Zetec comes in 1.6 1.8 and 2.0 flavour Sigma is a little gem..... 220hp from the 1600 on standard valve sizes is possible normally aspirated ;D show me another 1600 thats capable of that ;D ;D Oh and Madmaxx, the price of the GM conversion bits is what sent me looking for other powerplants, I have bought, fitted and supercharged this engine for less money than an XE needing a rebuild and the sump/box and mounts to fit it ;D

make sure you can dismantle it and rebuild it inside as I doubt that will fit through the door Well just an update. I finished making this end then tried to get it upstairs to makre sure it would fit.... FAIL!

Cheers Guys ;D Looks like I am going to be chucking some money at this while its all apart With a bit of luck it should be going down to Gary at Retro Motorsport in Harlow in the next week or two ;D Thats so it can have the Rear axle 4-link boxes and crossmember fitted, and the Piazza Rear axle fitted complete Also going to get the new Pedalbox mounted and Cage fitted and modified too ;D I`d have loved to have done it all myself but with Hollywood disappearing off to NZ shortly and the uncertainty of accomodation/storage I just need to get it done now........ Gary`s work is just superb - RetroAl`s MK1 escort - Gary did all the metalwork on that and that back end is the kind of thing I`ll end up with ;D Just got to take a deep breath as there is no going back then !!! (Actually I could still sell it as a Group 4 Tarmac prepared shell and easily see my money back so not too bad) More repaired bodywork pics later I hope Cheers Dom

Good to see its all taking shape Dom, thats a very nice bit of rear axle work there. Definetely need to see pics of yours when its being done. And thats a much better looking 1600 engine than the 1600 boat anchor I picked up for my shuvit last night
