Lastly I filled the rear axle with the LSD oil - jeez does that stuff smell! got 2 and 3/4 litres in the diff, does that sound about right? 2 - 3 quarts is about right so 2.75 litres is the French equivalent Thanks for that, Real Steel gave me 3 litres for it so I guessed it was ok, nice to have it confirmed though.

Hi Mark, Looking better every day!!! Keep at it mate, not much else to do on these cold and damp Winter nights. Bit poorly at present but new kickdown cable arrived from Summit today, hopefully it can go on the same bracket as the throttle cable now - especially as they are both braided stainless they will look good together.

Man flu, chopping down huge tree leaning over workshop and mental workload at work has meant very little progress of late. Small jobs have been done though, rear axle filled with oil (though it's leaking out of one of the studs??? - any ideas anyone?) Kickdown cable fitted and shifter cable fitted. The torque convertor cover plate was trimmed and massaged to fit round my Stage 1 filter. The recent high winds ripped the cover & frame clean off the flip front where it was stored in the back garden - fortunately it was not damaged by this but the winds were threatening to blow the flip front around the garden so it seemed prudent to get it back safe in the garage & on the car. Not ideal for working on it as the front will be in the way now but never mind. At least it will give me the chance to flat it all back & polish it up now as it's all as it came out of the spraygun at present. Hopefully get some work done during the Christmas break.

Plenty Dave! Wiring, making templates for the glass & interior trimming are probably the 3 main jobs, the rest is all the small stuff that takes forever.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Tedious jobs at present, rear axle & gearbox both leak Axle needs copper washers, not too bad, but had to drain gearbox and will try to properly seal the temperature capillary sensor as it keeps weeping around the threads. Faffing around with trans cooler lines so a new bracket needed making, had to give it a quick tickle on the polisher - will polish it properly later. Which is drilled & tapped to bolt to the gearbox here for the trans cooler lines. Also got the headlamps fitted to help get the flip front to locate properly.

Anyone else think that a custom made oil cooler made into the grill would look awesome? Just me....? Damn...

Front (and side) grills are made from 4mm steel rod. Powder coated black as eventually the front will be yellow when the flames are added. If you wander back through this thread you will see them somewhere. Today was spent doing more small jobs. Hopefully I have fixed the leaky trans temp sender fitting - after draining the trans again I cleaned the threads with solvent & glued the adaptor in with high strength Loctite, that ought to seal it properly. A hefty winding of PTFE tape around the flange of the sender before nipping up should complete the job. I'll leave it 24 hours for the Loctite to harden before adding the trans fluid again - wish me luck! Took the fuel tank out and fitted the internal fuel pickup tube - another job ticked off, question? are the gaskets for the sender & filler flange ok as they are or should I use some sealer as well? Also fitted the weatherproof electric connector plug to the fuel pump and mostly fitted the worlds most expensive heater hoses Lastly sorted the trans cooler hose routing, drilled the holes for the hoses to go through the rad spoiler & decided to do a quick flat & polish of the spoiler paint while it was off the car.
