owner of the mini works near one. not cost effective to make brackets unless its a one off.
about 35 notes for the 8 front suspension ones.
thanks for the tip on bump steer. its somink that most of the books i have here gloss over.

if your inserts in the sierra uprights are eccentric you will have up to 4 degrees castor adjustment and a bit of neg camber too. i run nearly a degree of toe out on mine if I'm sprinting which gives great turn in but on the road i run parallel to make it stable.front engine rwd is a bit more staight forward with plenty of weight to make the front end grip. top fab work by the way and id imagine quite pleasant work with someone else picking up the bill

I'm no expert on alignments mate, I'm only starting to learn here at work... Soon to go on a course for alignments though so I might know a bit more in a month or so. However, Froggy seems to know what he's talking about and he seems to have answered the questions - Nice one Froggy... The reason why I asked is because you're making a completely bespoke car and it might not be too hard to fabricate adjustable everything while you're doing it. If it was my car that was being built basically from scratch then I would love everything to be adjustable so it can be set up perfectly...... It surprises me how many cars out there can't be adjusted on certain things - we sometimes get cars with loads of negative camber on the rear which can't be adjusted and it just kills tyres... It wouldn't take much for the manufacturer just to put an adjustable arm there instead of a solid bar, if you know what I mean..........?

have built in front and rear adjusters for camber.
the front caster is a simple fix if it proves to be out

after much head scratching we decided to mount the steering rack above the steering arms instead of below as it caused to many clashes when mounted in its original possision. after a bit of narrowing its finally in start of the headers being made

That's just frappin' awesome. Totally gobsmacking work mate, keep it up!
One question - is the chassis and all of the tubework going to be powdercoated at some point or just painted? Just curious if you're going to have to strip the whole thing down once it's been finalised and all of the welding work is done....?

yes the car will be completely dry built then striped down for paint. chassis will be primed, then powder coated in colour then a clear powder coat over the top for durability. everything else on the chassis side will be powder coated, chromed, polished or whatever to a nice finish. headers I'm polishing as i make em as its easier to do that way. the owner may have to polish the exhaust though as polishing isnt a pleasant job to do. anyways I'm off to build the other header

I've just been on a wheel alignment course for the past couple of days so I've got more of an idea of how your car will be adjustable. I take it back about the caster adjusters mate - you can adjust the caster on your car. However you can also adjust the caster at the rear too, which probably won't affect much but it's something to think about when doing an alignment. Basically you have two adjustable rods on your top wishbone. Those can be adjusted so one is longer than the other, thus kicking out your top arm backwards or forwards. This will move your caster. Now the only problem or maybe flaw I can see in your double or parallel arm setup is the fact that both of the arms are the same length - correct me if I'm wrong...? The reason why that may be bad is because most double wishbone setups have a long arm at the bottom and a short arm at the top. This is because when the car corners and the suspension on the outside of the corner compresses, the wishbones allow the camber angle to change in the corner. Now I know you're going down the airbag route, but this will cause the tyres to wear on the outside edge a lot more than it would normally as all of the weight of the car will be going onto the outer edge of the tyre. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_wishboneWorth a thought? PS - great work mate, keep it up!

Far play mate. You're doing a sterling job by the way, and the only reason why I'm trying to find problems is because I don't want you to finish the whole car and then have to take it apart and redo things.
Do you know what I'm talking about with the caster though?
