Ok it happened turned up for work today to be told 2 hours later that it was closing and we were not getting paid , so I'm looking for work now and if I cant get anything soon she will be up for sale as ill need food and rent money, ive not touched the car for a couple of weeks now only fitting a peek mirror last weekend. but with this redundancy over me I'm low low low lol, don't want to have to sell but looks like I may have to. keep your eyes peeled for the advert in the sales section if I do Really really cheesed off...... Is there not a minimum redundancy payment required by law, or have you not been there long enough? I think you have to be there 5 years to get a payment. And even then, Good luck getting anything if the funds have been ringed dry! When everything is said and done, The employee is rarely the one that gets the fair deal. That said, I'm not sure where he would stand over being told it might be happening, And then going to work as normal to be told no money. They have to give you an actual written warning of its happening, to give you time to find other work / financially plan for it. So when the day comes, Its not just after you paid out all your bills and bought a new car because it "might" have been happening but no-one said for sure.

Hi Paul,
Gutted to hear about the job, it's a real stinker that they did that to you and I really hope you find something soon? I'm glad the benefits are there to help and if this means you get to keep the Firenza, even better.
We're all out of welding gas at the moment and there are too many cars in the unit to get yours in right now, but as soon as those two issues are addressed I'll see about getting that wing sorted for you.
Speak soon...

Still gutting though. If you have been made redundant due to employer insolvency, you should be able to claim back any wages and holiday pay due to you as well as redundancy pay and statutory notice pay. This will be paid out of the National Insurance Fund. Normally the Liquidator/Administrator should send out the required forms that you need to complete, however I know of one case where this did not happen, so it is probably a good idea to contact your employer/line manager and find out who the details of whomever is handling the insolvency. However be aware it could take months or years to see the money depending how long it takes them to sort out the your employer's affairs.

i think there is a minimum number of employees for the whole consultation period and certain benefits ?
been there myself, mid project too. it doesn't help you one tiny bit and i'm not trying to be your bezzy mate over it, but can at least have some empathy.
when you first announced i did kind of wonder if you could actually "afford" to sell it, if you know what i mean? hours/hardwork and money invested versus the amount of money you are likely to get for it, versus how much that amount would actually impact you day to day

Yeah was thinking more on the money straight away as opposed to the monthly payments I have to make , selling it would have meant an amount that would have lasted me a month or two. I was gutted and in a low mood when I thought about it and was mad at what had happened to me and the rest of my work mates. I'm going to push forward with the build and get it done and as a few have said to me ill be looking at a redundancy payout in a few months or less so happy days. So good to have support from people I know off here and people I don't know , Thanks guys a morale booster.

Ok BMW sorted and back on the firenza, started to rub down the rust on the front wing , under sealed and sprayed stone guard on the welding the area 52 guys did to prevent it going bad again. Stripped the door cards of the reveal a lovely red finish on the tops of the doors that's been hidden since new and really like the colour. May have to consider painting the car back to original. Got one wheel stripped of all it's crappy white paint and trying to decide what colour to paint the inside bits. I'm thinking black with a polished rim but not sure yet, need to google the wheel in different colours to see what looks best. All in all I had a good blast at the car and more determined to sort it out. And she still fires up first turn of the key too, happy days. I'll post pics of the progress later on .

That red breaking through the blue looks really cool, you should try it over the rest of the car. give it that stressed patina look.
Could follow the swage line for a bit then break off and back in again for the rear arch.
