No its not rust but its like a sandy sort of stuff , which I managed to get out after making a tool to put in the tank and cleaning it out. The sender unit is not a common one and apparently like hens teeth , bruce at area 52 has managed to get the other one working and has soaked it in diesel to get the rest of the curse word out of it , Again big thanks to bruce and the guys. More updates to come and ive booked a week of in april to go get it mot'd hopfully if all goes to plan she will be on the road this summer. Fingers crossed. And I keep meaning to pop round to yours meltdown to have a nose at yours ...

No its not rust but its like a sandy sort of stuff , which I managed to get out after making a tool to put in the tank and cleaning it out. good work, words fail me as to why that was in there, no one could have possibly thought it was a good idea to put it in there on purpose! The sender unit is not a common one and apparently like hens teeth , bruce at area 52 has managed to get the other one working and has soaked it in diesel to get the rest of the curse word out of it , Again big thanks to bruce and the guys. balls, top job though guys More updates to come and ive booked a week of in april to go get it mot'd hopfully if all goes to plan she will be on the road this summer. Fingers crossed. And I keep meaning to pop round to yours meltdown to have a nose at yours ... Great news and laugh my socks off at coming to see mine, she's been a bit of a mare this month, blasted handbrake setup, such a stupid design! and a knackered alloy water housing means i'm leaking coolant again. It really needs someone who's good at doing an alloy repair but that's not me!

haza1024He has a few parts on his website but it's a bit out of date, it's mostly consumables, best to send him a mail to be honest. Other than that the viva owners forum might be able to put you in touch with someone.

...now I'm more eager to get mine back and on the road. Cheers mate Plans are afoot to do a big push over the next couple of weekends to get this as near as possible to being finished . The main aim is to have it driveable for the first time in ?? years. With the bonus of stopping capability too... The current list of jobs looks something like this: *Connect fuel lines (Fuel tank already fitted and plumbed in, new filter and hoses at tank end so just front end to sort) *Re-bleed brakes once I can make another seal for the eezibleed *Battery clamp....part way there and shouldn't be difficult to finish *Alternator wiring in the hands of James 'Electrical Guru' Gulliver *Engine fiddling to get it running right ^James again^ *Refit handbrake *Refit original seats (drill & tap floor mounts where bolts have snapped, fabricate new brackets for passenger seat) Welding......hopefully get some extra help to get this side of things as finished as possible. Compared to the list of jobs we've managed to complete, this is very little. I reckon we're 80-90% of the way there. Fingers crossed for some good progress this weekend? I cannot wait to see you behind the wheel of this...cannot wait!

More details to come tomorrow, but it's been a mega day today. Only *just* got in after we'd all spent a solid 15hrs of working on the car. (start 9am, finish midnight)
Have this to tide you over for now. Turn the volume RIGHT UP....and then some. Even that doesn't begin to get close to how amazing it sounds in the flesh.
Like I say, more details to come tomorrow....in the meantime, a long shower and some quality bed.

Ok i've tried to get this arch panal and have had no joy so once again beaten by it lol, tidied out the garage and have loads of junk/handy stuff to get rid of to fund it . a pair of wings came up on ebay but at £275 ish each I can not warrant buying them as its only the little rear piece I am after. Are there any localish classic car auto jumbles coming up as I need to sort it as its holding up things now and I miss the ole girl and wanna get the first drive in . lol

There have been a few on the past couple of weeks (and the only one I made it too was a goddamn Mini show w/ other classics thrown in and the jumble was gash!)
Is a trip to Newark worthwhile?
