Spotted this on the 205gtidrivers forum, I have officially fallen in love with Dimma 309s. Mi16x4 running gear, including the 4wd system! Not sure what magazine or when but its still alive and kicking in a blue colour. More for good measure:

I won't be there when you cross the road, so always use the Green Cross Code.

I can't remember when I last saw a 309 on the road, let alone a GTI version?

I preferred the Dimma 309 to the 205 because the boxy shape seemed to better suit the car's lines. And in that factory grey metallic they just looked awesome. Best enjoyed with a big sound system blasting out Prodigy, Altern8 and Praga Khan 'chewns' and a glove-box full of dustmasks filled with Vick's. Party like it's 1993.

I've still got a video featuring a very drunk and hairy me staggering through my my parents' lounge at 2am on New Year's Day 1990 shouting '"HAPPY FKIN NEW YEAR Y'KNTS FKIN ELL ITS NINETEEN B'STARD NINETY HAHAHAHAHAHA".. I was 25.

I WANT ONE. I want a 309 gti anyway, but a dimma one? That'd rock my socks. Even more I'd love to weld a new tunnel in and convert it to rwd.

morning all!
yes its mine, the pictures of it in white are how it originally started out once dimma had created it. a lil info on it for those interested...
it started life as a 1.3 style, it was then ripped to pieces by dimma uk, and totally transformed, using the full kit, the wheels, full mi16x4 running gear and 1.9 mi16 engine...
to my knowledge, theres roughly 4 309 dimmas in the uk.
a red one, last seen for sale on ebay a good few months ago, the goodwood green on which is still on the show scene (yes it was featured in max power years ago), my one, and there is a blue one about somewhere, although i nor have anyone from the psooc seen it or know of it whereabouts since pugfest back in 1996.
this is the only 4wd 309 in the country that i know of. there was a 309 4x4 cossie back in the 90's, but this has since been stripped and taken off the road...
regards,
adam

I think that article was in Top Car magazine around 1992 I'd say. I think I have the mag somewhere in a box. They also featured a Dimma 205 with the Cosworth 4X4 running gear.
