A friend of mine offered to bring it down to me this is him leaving it's home from where I bought it in Scotland. The journey back was anything but uneventful and he had a little accident and did this to it. he eventually arrived at his place. A few weeks later he turned up at my place, thanks Geoff. Now at home in my garage. Don't know who that bloke is. I'm sure the dents got bigger.

I thought I would have a go at the dent, a reminder of it before. It now looks like this.. Just need to mend the welder to fill the holes and a bit of filler.

Then I had a stripping session. one wing off and the other and finally the front. These where all replacement panels not fitted very well so came off quite easily. and look at my brake hose I found.

Scotland-Sussex by Astra-powered A-frame! Brilliant! Thats quite a mission. Can I ask what mishap occurred? I'm just interested cos I use an a-frame myself and although I've never had a disaster (just a near-miss!), i'm always conscious that there could be a first time. Great photo, what a beautiful house!

Progress is slower than I was hoping due to my curse word eye and now I've done my back in. Anyway I've managed to do a bit today. not much but at least it's progress. Cut the corner out tacked a couple of plates over holes so they can be welded from the other side. Made and fitted this bit took a couple of pictures to see what it's like inside don't think it's as bad s I thought cut the next bit out ready obscure shot

If you notice when it started out it had the pepperpots on and when it arrived it has steels on, my mate reckons it was the pepperpots that made it tow a bit weird you wouldn't believe where the damage was on the Astra he reckon it lifted the back of the Astra! I still reckon the tracking is out on the Fiesta which i will get checked. He said it was no problem with the steels though.

check your inner sills, take the patches of tape off them. the sunroof drains go straight into the sills, more so at the front. mine are rusty on the inside but haven't got too far yet, will need replacing when i rebuild it all though.
other than that, plenty of progress made. you got any specific plans for it?

I'd look into the legality of your A-Frame as most are illegal now, unless the brakes of the 'towed car' are linked to the brakes of the tow car... you can get round it if the car being towed weighs less than the maximum amount for an unbraked trailer 750kg iirc.... Nice looking Fezza by the way always fancied building a rwd one m'self... It odd to see another Ford with a completely rotten bulkhead mine was made on another continent in a different decade and its just as bad..

Thanks for the reminder Kee, the sills do appear to be solid from the outside but as you say I need to have a check inside especially after my bulkhead, either way they're getting plenty of waxoil when finished. It's going back as standard just want to use it everday.

I had a check of the sills today kee and looking through the holes they look as good inside as they do outside, OK that may be a slight exaggeration but you know what I mean.
