That is a neat looking conversion, looks really good as a 2 door! Are the doors welded up or was there a bit more to it than that? Welcome

Doors welded, Nissan truck bench seat this Passat is nowhere near finished. This is my only car at the moment and is never garaged and parked on the street. I have to renew the MOT next week and I think it will be a case of having to buy a new set of collies as they all need a refurb and one is leaking, can't afford air ride. Hopefully that will be it but you never know then i have to think about replacing the clutch so any future mods are out for the time being

I,m from Lowestoft on the east coast'
My current collies are AVO but they are very old, they have no helper springs or bump stops and if they were rebuilt would be fine but it's taking the car of the road to do it. have to see after next Wednesday.

Eh up Mick, 'bout time you showed yourself around here... Hi Chris been meaning to for a while now, VZI ok but it's a bit clicky. Going to get Nick to get me booked in for an MOT for Wednesday so I will probably be over his doing the necessary. Have to bring the other half over sometime and see your new apprentice. hydro's on the pram yet? lol

Wow that is cool.... I want a bench seat! Was it hard to fit? Got anymore pics? Got the seat of my good mate Nick I believe it came out of a Nissan 21 Truck. The conversion took a day with Nick doing the welding as thats what he's good at. The Nissan seat was stripped to reveal the frame then welded to the VW base's then the upholstery was replaced. the handbrake was moved to the side of the tunnel and a connecting rod was made up using either end of the WV on welded to it

Got the old girl through the MOT, failed on 3 things steering rack gaiter, headlight and a bolt loose on one of the calipers. Since Ive had this car it's had a dodgy bush in the gearbox for the starter motor making it turn slow at times. bought a new bush about 10 months ago and been driving around with it in the glove box all that time putting it off as it looks like an of a job. Anyway crunch day came and i had no choice but as my back is giving me real curse word at the moment ( waiting for injection in my spine ) so i thought i would give the job to someone else. Phoned the local stealership as i thought they might have a special tool for it and do it quickly lol, I was told 2 1/2 labour £225 and advised to go to a back street garage. There's a one man garage just up the road and it turns out he loves VW's and £32 later my cars fixed and he took real interest in my car. Ripped a Gt door body kit off from a car in the local breakers, paid £2, shaped it and today glued it to my front bumper to smooth it out. Not really the weather for it, god knows when i can fill it but at least I'm doing something, also tidied the wiring, Roll on summer, roll on these injections

Had a couple of Marina coupes in the past, good fun in the wet Mick, the Angel is a monthly meet near Snetterton that I always go to. Next one is next Weds (3rd Dec). Nick keeps meaning to come along too. The winter meets tend to be turn up in anything, sit by open fire, drink ale, talk cars. Summer meets are in a field next to the pub and a chance to show off our rides. Gimmie a shout if you fancy coming to the next one.
