well, I'm sniffling at home instead of the prefered monday day-off diet of welding however, two ill days have given google a hard time I have found if you use other sources rather the .co.uk version it gets interesting (.de and .it throws loads up you won't get on .com or.co.uk ) and I was browsing hairdressers cars fiat x1/9's and stumbled over the wide arch ones. they are called dallara's, there's some good info here- www.sfconline.org.uk/models/icsunonove/icsunonove.asp have some pics- ^^^thats what 192 bhp of fiat engine looks like! spot the non fiat bit ignore the eurobeat music, it soon goes away uk.youtube.com/watch?v=O_txgZ5sQQsshame about the wind noise uk.youtube.com/watch?v=okP7KaPnvcwenjoy

Great stuff. I think a Uno Turbo motor's a relatively easy swap into one of these too.

Never mind the uno turbo - What about the 20v turbo from the coupe? What a weapon!

yonks back when i had my 2nd mk1 uno i went to see some minilite style alloys which i should have bought. They were from a x1/9 with the body kit but at the time i didnt want the hastle of the arches but would have looked cool with either the x1/9 body kit grafted on or the wide uno kit at the time DOH!!!

I think I read somewhere of someone putting an ALFA V6 into one, to make a proper mini Ferrari.
That would be quite awsome.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the ebay car is a Faran Eliminator which isn't not the same as a Dallara. The Dallara moulds are still around apparantley, but they're designed for a longer wheelbase so the wheels end up in the wrong place if you put one on a stock X-19.

Pure Car porn, shame on you B&D!! I was under the impression that such was the lack of space, you couldnt fit an anorexic mouse into the engine bay, a V6 Alpha lump?! Top work that man. I think the popular mod is the Uno Turbo lump. There used to be loads of these, have they all dissolved?

Hi all. The X19 was quite popular in the USA racing in the SCCA. I had a book once that gave step by step instructions on how to produce one. The amount of work required was amazing, moving suspension pickup points etc never mind cutting out the rot. www.irata.com/redx19/Enjoy.

they smack of a car that should have been more popular than they actually were, which is a shame. small, nippy mid mounted, two seater sports car with small, eager engine should have been instant win. that looks rather odd with no front screen, like something from start wars! hope someone recommisions it
