Ok, I finally decided to concentrate my attentions onto my coupe so i'll be moving the Impala Hunter on, thought i'd try and swop it for a Jag as its been a long time since I had one and I still love all that wood and leather.
As far as I can tell the Merc is solid and needs no welding, but the engine is dead, the heads cracked and is off the car, but is included if you want to try and get it fixed, its the 4 pot 2 litre so nothing special in that department, I have some pics and info from the build although I haven't seen what is there exactly as its been dropped off at me mates and I havent picked it up yet.
The merc has full on (and fully working) hydraulics, its a 4 pump, 4 dump system with a control box on a long lead, has a couple of lorry batteries in teh boot at the mo which serve to demo that it all works, but don't hold much of a charge or put out enough juice to really get it shifting.
Car has been converted to 2 door, the B pillar has been moved backwards so the doors can be lengthened for better proportions and rear hinged so they are now suicide doors, bonnet and boot open sideways on rams, bonnet is opened from inside on a switch, doors are soloniod operated as well.
It has a custom interior, bench type seats in the front, seats, side panels and steering wheel all covered in matching patterned brown leather.
Brakes are a bit seized but it was parked up undercover for about 9 years before I got it hence its good condition, I reckon an engine dropped into it and the brakes sorted and maybe a bulb or too and it would MOT although obviously I havent bee able to drive it.
I have the log book, and evidence it was built long enough ago not to need an SVA.
I am after a jag of some sort, not to worried about mechanical issues but don't want a rusty one, even one with a dead engine or box is fine if the rest of the car is good, what ya got?
Justa decided I could be interested in something with an open top, I really miss my V8 jeep kit car and my daughter loved it.
