right looking at the route now. -from sheffield onto M1 down to donny services off M1 at J24a onto a50 a little. (did we meet here for RR '07?) -Carry on m1 until J23a, leave M1 and join A42 -at J11 continue onto M42 (carry straight on looking at it?) and continue until the end of the M42, heading towards the M5 -Join M5 at J4a this is where it could get tricky, it reckons going through bristol is a good idea. what do you lot recommend. maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

I'm not sure what time we're setting off or whether we're able to convoy yet... I may need to stop in Lestoh to pick Steve up and see if we can tag on the end of the convoy. My directions take me through Brizzle too, but it's a feckin nightmare and I reckon it might be better doing a few more miles and doing something like M5 J23 A38 or something... dunno...

Our routes are quite different. But if you guys wanted to organise a merger at Beaconsfield services or somewhere like that I can't see a problem, think thats our first common one..
Any idea what kinda time you'd be hitting that?

so any suggestions for tackling brizzle? I'd try to go around it, although the thought of a convoy of retro motors winding its way through the city seems pretty cool! Continuing further down the M5 and exiting at J23 adds another 30 miles on the journey as the M5 kinda starts heading SW after Bristol. Exiting the M5 at J15 and taking the M4 / A36 means we'd miss Bristol and only adds another 10 or so miles on. Probably better for fuel as we'd be doing 60 or so rather than crawling through the city? Just a couple of ideas

M4 sounds like a pretty decent idea. I wont be much past 60 anyway unless i get this rad sorted tomorrow.

beaconsfield is near london, non?
route goes m5 > m4 > few little b-roads > a37>a371>a359
can be changed to go straight to a46 from m4, through bath onto a36 then a361>a359
