very very cool car . . but this rear spoiler really has to go . . glad to hear that you see that yourself ;D btw . . maybe you want take those mud flaps off as well . . they do more harm than good . . since they're a real dirt trap . . . and it results in rust . .

HI guys Have had this car a month now, thought I would bump my thread and let you know about how I have been getting on. So far I have had 300 miles of happy motoring apart from the gearbox deciding to get stuck in reverse at a car show pretty embarrasing getting towed home. turns out a bolt that holds the selector rod in on the top of the gearbox had gotton loose, still meant getting filthy here is a pic of the gearbox off anyway. obviously being stuck in reverse presents a problem when trying to get your car on ramps! Piece of wood to push the clutch down + tow rope + pug gti6 = WIN I have already cleaned all the parts in the pic below a bit- took me a couple of hours to take off and the same again to fit it back on - props to Topgear transmissions in Cleckheaton they stripped and rebuilt my gearbox for £45 bargain. Now I had the car fixed I decided that I would spend moneys. so I changed my twin head lights for single lamps BEFORE AFTER so then I thought that my car was still lacking so I bought some MTI split rims - they were made in 1989 in W/Germany - i prefer these to bbs split rims because the usual BBS rims are scene taxed to hell and becoming a bit on the common side. So then I decided to do a photoshop of how the car will look, although i think the wheels maybe a bit out of proportion, but i think its not far off I have some more parts on the way - firstly a replacement boot lid has been bought and so I can get rid of the spoiler! so please no more grief about me spoil - er lol. Also ordered some brand new toyo t1r's for the alloys and hopefully i'll be updating the thread on the weekend with pics of the wheels installed. Still got to lower the car however the BMW budget has been spent this month so may have to wait a few weeks till i can order the suspension. I have also given the engine bay a very thorough clean however I havent taken pics of that yet - will do on the weekend.

clean looking e21 you have, I think once slammed over those alloys you will have a very very nice 316.
what are the dimensions of the rims and the offset?

My Dad in 1993 had also E21, but it was Alpina, coupe, BBS rims, dark green colour with deflector between rear lamps.... Sorry, but I have no photo of that car. Your one also looks good!!

Very very tidy example that, I like your plans! I wouldn't be taking it anywhere until I've removed that spoiler though, holy bootlid or not!
