cool thread. I agree with whoever said the touring car replica idea could easily look half arsed, and that theres the possibility of confusion with the max power brigade, but some of those cars look so awesome, and it shouldnt be too hard with some attention to detail to do one like the early 90s ones seeing as they didnt have mad bodykits etc, and the cars they were based on are now SO cheap. That volvo estate is great i like it a lot. I feel a touring car inspired car coming on in the future, probably not a full replica, but you'd know it was touring inspired, and that'd be dead easy to do too

The first scanning session is over and I've finally got my old Thruxton BTCC 1995 photos online, looking back I had a rubbish camera, limited skill, no imagination and no zoom so its lots of tiny racers from the same angle unfortunately But what the hell, here we go. I won tickets for the race on local radio, my parents dropped me and my then gf (SWMBO) at the enterance where we nearly got mown down by Murray Walker in his 3 series BMW ;D drivers parade and signing sessions, still got a pile of old posters from 95/96 somewhere with signatures. The big signing of the year, Ex F1 racer Derek Warwick Fords Mondeo, this was the first year of wings and splitters, 94 was the year that Alfa Romeo turned up with big bolt on bits and the other teams added them mid season before building the cars with them the next year 155 First season for Honda After a season with the estate the Swedes changed to the saloon First race won by Menu in the Laguna BMW had 007 sponsorship Fiesta Cup was a support race along with Formula Ford and Formula Vauxhall It was also the year that Charlie Cox (MotoGP commentator) had a massive crash, we were stood by the chicane when his brakes locked up and pitched him into the gravel at 100mph, we got covered in gravel and dust after that. Looking through the albums the cameras got better and my shots improved so I'll be scanning some more soonish!

Glad you like them, the only others I have are from 1996 also from Thruxton, got some from the 2002 as well I think. The rest of the scans I'm doing will be from Castle Combe mainly ;D Thruxton 1996, after catching the touring car bug (i'd bought the 1994/5 VHS since my last visit) we were back trackside, buying our own tickets this time, also got into the paddock to get up close up, the action is still a long way away and all from the same corner! Matt Neals Mondeo Andy Rouse had retired from his Ford drive and ran a couple of Primeras for Gary Ayles and Owen McAuley First year for Audi with the A4, it was the period in BTCC history where new marques came in with big name drivers and cleared up Smokin Jo with his 3 Series Privateer Lee Brookes, won that year in his Carina E Reigning champion Cleland carried Number 1 on the Vectra Peugeot brought out the new 406 Honda returned with the huge Accord Looking back at this lot is making me reach for the VHS again, starting in 1988 I shall be reliving the door handle to door handle antics
