Its been waiting a long time! 3.6 32V Audi V8 lump, with an Audi coupe FWD gearbox, mk2 golf hubs and custom rose jointed wishbones, so got to get some custom driveshafts made. Gear linkage, clutch etc. See how we get on! ;D

Give these guys a call for all your gear selector/cable needs- www.paralleldesigns.co.uk/indexframe.htmlThey build kit car Lamborghinis powered by BMW V10 engines mated to Audi gearboxes. I priced up a linkage system from them and it was a very decent price for a 5 or 6 speed. Much less hassle than trying to fabricate your own system. Use something that tried and tested

I do agree that this will be as mad as a box of frogs ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) , but, you will need to sort out some kind of soundproofing, maybe a decent set of ear defenders ;D. I'm sure you may have to have a look into the rules and regulations for construction and use om this one. Look into whether you can have the engine within the passenger area of the car, fuel lines, etc. You may have to put a partition between the engine and the front seats. Then again I maybe talking complete bullsh*t, ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) Cheers, Stu.

Cheers, thought you lot would like it! ;D I bought it as in the pics, the subframe and that was done a 5/6 years ago, I remember seeing it trailored to a show and that was the last anyone heard! Found the pics I saved from when it was built... ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v609/philj/V8%20Polo/04engineandgearboxmount.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v609/philj/V8%20Polo/05enginemount.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v609/philj/V8%20Polo/06rearsupport.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v609/philj/V8%20Polo/07goingin1.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v609/philj/V8%20Polo/08goingin2.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v609/philj/V8%20Polo/09scaryview.jpg) Stu, I think your right, we are going to weld in a firewall with a thick bit of perspex up the top one we get it running, fuel lines can go under the car. This is a learning curve for me and my mate, so any advice would be much appreciated, we've got alot to work out! The front suspension and steering is stock polo but with rose jointed steering arms and a steering damper. Got some polybushed bottom arms and camber adjustable top mounts to stiffen that up. Rear suspension is the custom wishbones, mk2 golf hubs and suspension legs. Which leads us to brakes, if I use mk2 golf front calipers on the rear, how can I get around the handbrake? We're going to have to modify the manifolds I think so the outlet points above the driveshafts and coming out of the rear valance, just don't think there's enough clearance under that subframe. Theres no springs in there at the moment, so thats a damper on its bump stop. and theres say 4" of ground clearence between the subframe and the floor. Anyone got any idea how much the lump weighs? Got most of the loom plugged in engine side. Just need a wiring diagram really to work out what the other ends are, theres loads of wires! Thats going to be a battle. No idea where to get a diagram from. Ordering cambelt and tensioner kit and full service monday. Need somewhere to get some perspex windows made cheapish, want holes for air intakes each side, works well with the airbox on there. Wheels, got some 13" compo turbos adjust the width to fit some arches, with some large tyres. Thinking a 215 50 13 front and 225 45 r888s, berg arches are the only way to get that in really. Clutch is hydraulic so that shouldnt be too difficult once we find out what car the gearbox has come from. Gear linkage is rod change, so hopefully we can use a cable type converter like on the 6n polos, and get the cables extended. Throttles nice and easy, small bracket and a long cable. Need to get some CDS, see if my bender will bend it. ;D

I think I'd be looking at the BIVA manual and building it in accordance with that. Not saying that you'll definitely need one (possibly, with the modded chassis) but I think it'd be wise to have it in mind. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
