When you go into the modify box you'll see a little picture 4th from the left on the bottom row of 'Add tags' Click on that, and the put your link between the two img tags Can't get the other one to work Welcome

Links not working, and when you do IMG tags you need to do one like this- then the direct link to the image not the Flikr page then the tag with [/img ]. Just with no spaces

Do this- on Flickr click the "All Sizes" at the top of the picture, choose Medium when it opens up big, scroll down, choose the line that's on its own in Option 2, copy it, and paste it into the forum between [/img] tags That'll work --Phil

[/img]http://s818.photobucket.com/albums/zz101/Hughesy232/?action=view¤t=DSCF1160.jpg[/img] and this is when we put it on the trailer. Thanks for taking a look. P.S Can someone explain why my photos aren't working. I am using photobucket. I have put them as links until I can figure it out. [/quote] Your first pic link has an erronous / in the first box. The second link is a url to the page location of the picture, not the picture itself. The correct code should look like this ... [I'm G]http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz101/Hughesy232/DSCF1165.jpg[/I MG]

Right bit of an update for all the people. I moved it out of where the curse word was. I got a window (as the other one was smashed by scumbags ) and myself and my cousin tried to fit the window. Well that went well.........not. didn't fit one before. My bro was heading down to the local mechanic, to sort his car. So i decided i would head down with him. The mechanic said that he would fit the window and sort the whole car out mechanically. So thats happening this sunday. I kinda want him to sort it out so then i can start buying stuff for it. e.g. suspension, badgeless grille, and exhaust. Will be gettin them over the winter. So until next chat to yous all later.

fitting windows to these is an art form! you need to drop the glass in from the outside of the door frame. it helps to remove as much trim from the door too! took me ages to do one on my other halfs car, didnt help that it was a really frosty day either

Hey leigh. I'm from Mayo. I got this car from Westport. I checked the logbook. It was bought in Dublin, and was around the country until I finally got it. She is a bit rough but alright. I'm working at modifying it, but as recession has made a balls of this country I'm finding it a bit tough. Where you from yourself??

Well got the car finally down to me mechanic. The brakes are the big things as they are a bit f**ked. Probably go onto the suspension and the general condition of the car. I am just really glad that i got the ball rolling. ill update whenever i can

My housemate is from Westport actually. You're not the only one getting it tough for cash man, i feel your pain. What are you getting done on it at the minute?

Westport?? Thats just up the road from me. Well currently she is getting the brakes done. Thinking of getting VWII calipers, pads and drilled discs. Might get braided lines. then its onto the suspension. Got a gt cam for little money. Thinking of putting that in as well. Depends when I can get the mechanic to do it. The window was smashed but managed to get a free one. Thats in now so it wont get waterlogged. Would love to get a set of nice seats. think corrado seats go in don't know. Cheers for looking

Hi everyone. Just thought I would update this. The parts are beginning to marterialise. Brakes suspension and the like. Changed the title of the thread as it is shoestring budget build. Have ideas id like to throw out, but ill have to get the car running properly before I do. Need to get the car in such a way that it can put it through the NCT (Irish verison of MOT).
Thanks for looking

Hey man, good to hear you're getting on with this. I'm sure GSF do loads of bits for these and they're very cheap for parts. As for seats, i put Porsche tombstones in my arosa and i have another set for the Magnum - i picked them up for about £40 and although they need recovered they are very comfortable seats (they're made by Recaro according to the stamp on them) plus they have flat bottoms so they sit nice and low down. People also reckon Scirocco seats are good but i didnt like the ones in my Scirocco and the Porsche ones are much much better in comparison. Braided lines make a big difference too, don't perish as much either. What size engine is in this - looks exactly the same as the one litre in my Arosa!

Its 1000 cc of pure power. lol. Have a gt camshaft. Thinking of putting it in. The most i know about engines though is pure basic stuff. Porsche seats sound good. Would have to be at a good price. Does the subframe need to be modified to fit them. Anything is better than the ones that are currently in it!! Want to get the car up to road standard over the christmas. Ill update this when i can.
Thanks for looking

Well its been quite a while since i updated this. I was very busy over Christmas and the new year and the poor little polo was feeling very unloved. However i got a few parts for her. Really to get it NCT able. Turns out the front brakes are pretty good. The back brakes do need changing. The suspension is sound, so no change there. the mechanic said that he might be able save the exhaust. All i want to do is just get that fricking nct. Soon as that is on it, i can actually start to modify it. Am aiming to be done before retro rides 2010 as i wanna bring her to it. This is what i am aiming to have her looking like in a while Thanks for looking

Well i have been cracking on with this project. A lot more has happened in the last three weeks than in the last three months. The parts have come thick and fast. she is mobile at the minute but i have to put new shocks in the front so i can get her to pass the NCT. They will be going in next week. then she will need to be driven round the back roads near my house as she is a bit stiff cos she was up so long. As soon as it i get it up to the house again i will be taking pics. Anyways i was just wondering if anyone can put me in the direction of a good set of bilstein shocks??? I have to get the normal shocks to pass the test. However i would like to lower her 60/40. Thanks for looking
